Rving was great for me. I was able to get rid of the financial "Ball & Chain" house that served it's purpose over the years, but really was all consuming. With respect to the house, and all the expenses and work that it represented, it consumed a large chunk of the income, as well as a large chunk of my time for maintenance and yard work. Really don't miss any of it. Without the expense of the house, and the benefits of Rving, I can enjoy early retirement. The house payment, taxes, upkeep, utilities, were getting overwhelming... I was working to support the house. Rving can be what ever you need it to be. Inexpensive living is a great advantage of Rving. You can live as expensive as you like, or as inexpensive as you need to. I still enjoying the inexpensive aspect. Since we full-time rv, living in the Rv 24/7/365, we have memberships for different campgrounds. Memberships if purchased and used correctly, can enable you to live very inexpensively. First and foremost... always purchase a resale membership. The original membership could cost several thousand dollars, usually at least $5000 and as high as $12,000. OUCH! We purchased our first membership ( $7500 from the resort) for $500 from from someone selling theirs ( they were not in need of it anymore). We got our most recent membership ( $6900 from the resort ) again for $500. We pay the yearly dues $600 and can use it as much as you want to... the only time restriction is 2 weeks in the resort and 1 week out, and repeat as often as you like. We have 2 memberships in the Orlando area, so we stay at one resort for 2 weeks, move 12 miles, stay at the other resort for 2 weeks, and repeat for our entire stay here in Orlando. Dues divided by usage last year netted us a average cost of $23.60 per week...yes per week, to stay here in Orlando, 5 miles from Disney. This included electric. So we stay here in Orlando for less than $100/month ... total! Rving lets us enjoy retirement without being financially drained. Certainly gives you options! .
Chronicles our adventures in a not so conventional lifestyle... Full-time Rving. Retired and sold the house in 2003, bought the Rv of our dreams, and travel doing what we want, when we want. Plus a lot of other topics thrown in to keep it interesting... or at least I hope so. Stories & photos of our adventures and our life on the road. Hope you enjoy reading it from time to time.
