Movie Day ... Date Day
Tuesdays are date day at the movies.
Having enjoyed mysteries since childhood its always nice to see new movies that involve drama & mystery.
We went to see the recent movie series inspired by Agatha Christie, and produced by Kenneth Branagh as he reprises the roll of Hercule Poirot.... A Haunting in Venice.

Judging the new series in comparison to previous two earlier movie series yields both kudos and some disappointments.
2004 British series with David Sachet... 1978 Peter Ustinov movie.
The first movie... Branagh's Murder on the Orient Express was the best adoption.... very enjoyable to watch. Highly recommended. My rating... 10/10.
Branagh's second movie... Death on the Nile, while very enjoyable, was concerning in that many key subtle clues or insights, characteristic of Agatha Christie, were omitted or changed from the previous movie Death on the Nile starring Peter Ustinov... Almost too the point of being minorly distracting on every turn in the movie. Changes or additions were expected ... but many of the key "Agatha Christie" subtle hints which heightened the mystery were omitted. Minorly Disappointing.... But if you have never seen the earlier installments, nothing took compare it to... You will truly enjoy this movie. 9/10.
The third movie... A Haunting in Venice based on Agatha's Halloween Party was disappointing... I'd rate it at best... 6/10. Highly lacking in many of those famous refined Agatha Christie mystery enhancing moments. So the screen play adaption sorely misses the mark for me. A somewhat good movie had it not been presented as a Agatha Christie masterpiece... expectations heightened and unrealized.
Definitely a movie to be seen once available for streaming.
