Doctors

Doctors & health care.

It's getting harder to find a good primary care doctor. And when you do,  they leave the area... Leaving you to one again search for another doctor.  And regular out patient clinics are getting worse. Get you in, get you out, and go with the quick and easy playbook for treatments. They don't really listen to your issues... How can they? They are only with you 3-5 minutes and always in a hurry to more on. We've had 3 good primary care doctors and have lost all of them.
Sad state of events.

Recently once again lost our primary care doctor at University of Virginia Healthcare System. Why can't they keep doctors?

Got sick with severe sinus drainage,  even more severe cough creating intense raw sore throat, headaches, and upper chest and back  pain and stiffeness from all the coughing. I'm not prone to allergies but that was the prescribed course of action. Coughing is the main problem.  Yet this was dismissed and not addressed. The get them in and get them out Playbook  called for Zyrtec and prednisone. 3 days later the coughing still tearing me up.
What has worked in the past... azithromycin was not considered.
Neither was Tussionex with codeine ( for the cough)... is not an option due to addiction and abusive possibilities.

So now we search for a new primary care doctor. For the second time in 2 years ,  the UVA doctors office didn't know when they will get more doctors... several months away.

This is the current and future of healthcare.
