Cloudy... damp... 65°... Just a gloomy nasty depressing day. 
Going in town, do a little shopping, grab a sweet treat...

Lift my spirits.

THEN... You see him... Walking down the street...

DEATH.... Death walking the street.

Do not make eye contact... Walk away... In the other direction. 
Live to shop another day.

Life

Life was always changing... we were always changing... how we think, how we feel, our sense of ones self, and how we looked at life... always changing. Perhaps it's only natural to reminisce about growing up. Memories growing up that were happy and uncomplicated with lifes challenges. All your friends and places that became part of you, every experience gently shaping the person that you would become. I don't think that the adult me would have become the person I am without the childhood foundation of growing up in Country Ridge and its happy social environment. None of us knew it at the time how much of an influence it really was... life just moved on without giving it a second thought. Now, reflecting back, realizing how it greatly influenced the people we became. The start of a happy life.  Perhaps that's just my perspective,  but hopefully shared by others. Lots of memories... all good. Reflections of the past.

Everyone Complains

Everyone Complains...

Everyone complains about politics and politicians...everyone.

And its about the same things...

Over and over... And over... Again and again. 

And it's like the old saying...

Complaining does no good without taking corrective action.

If you don't act to change things... Stop complaining!

So... When will it be time to take action?

They keep voting in the same old, same old ...

Overly old politicians. 
Too old, too corrupt, too old and too incompetent. 

Politicians take off most of September before resolving budget issues. Then finally get back,  and once again,  threaten to wreck havoc on the economy by the impending government shutdown. 

The public at large... stop complaining... Y'all keep voting for them. 

So here we go once again...

If it was lightly soiled... it was wiped off and reused.

Bacon grease... was ALWAYS saved!

Focus on the big picture...

They protest, they have demonstrations, they rally to have politicians make laws, they use the media to convince the public at large that their agenda is righteous... all in the effort to save the environment. 

And as the saying goes... every little bit helps. BUT DOES IT? 

Banning the use of plastic grocery bags is but a single drop in a ocean of plastics.  

Things are too far gone to make enough changes that would have any meaningful impact.  Kinda like politics... too far gone to ever be corrected.

Another Sad Day for Baltimore 

Today ... Brooks Robinson passed away.

I grew up watching the Baltimore Orioles since childhood. There were many Orioles heros, and to say that one stood above the rest is a tall statement... BUT... Brooks Robinson was that player. 
Clearly one of the biggest names in Orioles Baseball.... a name that will live in the hearts of all Orioles fans forever. The memories are countless and will never be forgotten. He was referred to as "Mr. Oriole" and the "human vacuum cleaner"... nothing got past him at third base.  The Legend is gone... Rest in Peace... Always Remembered. 23 years with the Orioles... 16 consecutive years received the "gold glove" award .

70 years worth of hearing of people that have died. 

As if family and friends weren't enough,

Once they are gone,  all you hear about is well known 

People from television and movies.

Yep... death is part of life.

People that you have enjoyed watching for years.
