Pandemic

Watched a news interview this morning.  Basically this person indicated that the Covid virus (despite its origins) is nothing more than nature's way to make the population as a whole stronger & healthier. The young, the old, and the weak will perish, as in nature,  and the heard will be stronger for it.
WHAT A CONCEPT FOR THE HUMAN RACE.
No matter how anyone rationalizes it, dismisses it, or think it's not real... The virus is deadly to some (apparently those not worth saving). Wow... It's a fact ( probably ) that most are not at risk of dying, but  being careless to get infected and spread it to those at higher risk, well, it says a lot about the kind of person you are.
The  "it's all about me generation" (and the hell with anyone else).
WHAT A WORLD WE LIVE IN TODAY.
Seems to be the same story everywhere.
Relaxing of government restrictions ( leaving precautions up to individuals)...
Complacency, not being as careful as time wears on...
Psychologically tired of it all and the desire for a normal daily life...
Giving up, giving in, wanting a normal life despite the risks...
Attitude that the risk is very low or not real despite statistics...
Rationalizing that it won't happen to me...
And those that simply don't worry about themselves or anyone else.
Nine months later... Look where we are at.
(just in this one county... Mostly isolated in the country)
Rationalize it any way you want... Choices.

Thanksgiving

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
Stay safe if traveling and enjoy family.

Life...

Life with the Covid Virus...
Mostly isolated in the country).

Watching the new TV shows and how they convey the the new American normal with Covid. Some play it up a little,  many show it middle to high... scary. A few like the medical / hospital shows and emergency response shows portray the virus precautions high to extreme. It's nice to see the shows not playing the virus down. Play it down any way you like, that's your choice. As for me, I prefer to pay it safe with precautions. I bet no one in the hospital, or those that died, thought it would happen to them. Maryland, DC, and Virginia just reported a significant increase over the past two weeks. Complacency can get you or your family sick or worse.
Side effect... Maintaining emotional wellbeing and stability.

Fall sunsets

The colors of fall trees have come and mostly gone. Rain and high winds have brought most of the leaves to the ground. Fall sunsets have taken their place... Magnificent colorful sunsets. Almost don't miss the colors of the trees.  Nature always provides a show.

Isolation

Guess we need to keep an eye on each other. Some people go on like nothing has changed (risky). Some find middle ground (moderate risk). Some socially and physically isolate themselves for fear of being at high risk. The ones that seem the safest are quietly at risk, not from the virus, but psychological health. Isolation... We were not intended to live in isolation. It's hard. We're need to keep an eye on each other. Those that you haven't heard from that often, and those that quietly don't seem the same.

Family

Isolation... Gives you extra time to simply think. Wonder and have questions that will never be answered about family. How much to you really know about family.  Most of what you know about you parents is from perhaps your age 10 through adulthood. Your younger years and prior to being born, what you know about their life is a mystery. Grandparents are even more of a mystery filled with unknowns. And beyond that you are lucky to have a name, or some old photos that raise hundreds of questions about their life. From time to time I look at the old photos and wonder what their life was like. It would be nice to have a time machine. Oldest photo is from 1885 notation on back my grandfather. Older woman with boy... great grandmother? Family photo collage and photos of my mom. One photo from 1922... looks like my grandparents should have been in the Bonnie/ Clyde gang.

And then...

And then... Depression set in. I can see that lots of people are going to get depressed now that the election is over and they have spent most of the last four years crusading over politics... when what do I do now sets in. They lived, ate, and breathed politics for four years... now what to do with their life? What will fill the giant void?
Add to this social isolation due to the virus... plus colder weather keeping them inside... plus the holiday season... plus social media turmoil. And the virus situation is getting worse, not better.
Maybe a good snow will help. Hot chocolate, warm fire, cozy blanket, and some good movies. Guess we'll see. Good luck to all those that were consumed by political issues. Restart life.
Learn to get over things... let things go.

Postings

Postings... Sometimes I just like to post something not only to convey a message,  but to reveal a little about myself... which may in varying degrees be a passing interest.
Sometimes it's to get a reaction... a judgement of sorts... that something of myself not only disagrees with their beliefs,  but that they would judge me for it.  They think something about me that's not appealing to them because I think or might believe differently from them. And in some degree they judge and condemn.
Now the twist... in a society where too many judge others rather than at the least accepting that others can be different without judging them... they judge and condemn. I accept others and their differences without judgement. The fact that they can not, does not make others less of a person,  but in fact proves that they are less of a person for judging others. And while on one hand they condemn others for judging them... They do exactly the same thing to other people.
Hence this post... Lots of positive sayings and concepts... but the pagan symbol or mention of wicca offends them to judgement.
There's a word to describe them... Hippocrates. I certainly hope most don't fall into this category. Just something to think about.

Out of control

Our of control... American politics.
This says a lot about politics
for the last 50 years.
Almost everyone in Congress
is a multi millionaire.
Serving the population?
Serving themselves!

Forewarned

Situational awareness and thinking after the fact... I wish someone might have told me about it, or cautioned me before I did something. I may not have done it, but probably still would have proceeded with a new found bit of wisdom. A greater insight as to what might happen and the possible consequences for my seemingly innocent actions. Having said that, and given you a moment to reflect on what might be considered words of wisdom,  clearly you would proceed just as myself without hesitation. Guess it's human nature to proceed either out of curiosity or despite the warnings, and there you have it. So be fore warned, as if it would do any good.
But I digress... So what is this about?  The innocent reading of a spell. Yes those little words that combine to effect the outcome of your future, if only for a short time,  and hopefully with positive benefits. Okay... okay... Here it is.  Be prepared that if you read a sleeping spell,  you're eyes will get heavy,  all your cares will slip away, and you will fall fast asleep. All in all a positive outcome. Please note... if read during the daytime,  you will experience a well deserved lengthy nap. Relaxing scented candle optional. Three and a half hours later you awake to realized the world has passed you by having little care as to what you may have missed. Having feeling  better for the experience.  Enjoy. You're gonna read it anyway... aren't you?

Delightful

Delightful Treat...

Foggy mountain

Foggy mountain...
Early morning fog, sunlight peaking through, a beautiful sight.
As the day progressed the clouds and fog persisted. Cool looking and sometimes looking a bit eerie.
As darkness falls it shifted over to spooky.
Certainly time to head down of the mountain before it gets to dark.
Still an interesting day.
