Perspective

HERE'S WHAT NEEDS TO BE EXPLAINED:

There's always more than one perspective. Given the recent rise in the cost of insulin there's a heated debate about not only the unreasonable cost, but the fact that the government can give away meds to those addicted to illegal drugs... and not do anything about the diabetic insulin crisis.
One perspective is simply as stated... why won't the government do something about insulin prices when they are more than willing to help out drug addicts.
Another perspective says that those struggling with addiction are not the enemy, and should not be singled out over the issue. And claim that it's embarrassing that this needs to be explained to the public.
It's not saying that addicts shouldn't be helped, its saying that if the government can help addicts, why aren't they doing something about the insulin crisis.
So who deserves the help the most, or the help first?
Again, it all depends on your perspective. Diabetes is a medical condition that wasn't a choice, no one made a choice to be a diabetic. And while drug addiction is considered a medical condition, it started with a choice, a bad choice. A repetitive conscious bad choice... knowing the consequences. So, if only one group is helped, who should it be?
So don't say that there shouldn't be a comparison between addicts getting free meds as the insulin crisis continues to escalate... And that struggling addicts should not be singled out for this comparison. No one is saying they shouldn't get help. They are simply questioning the governments priorities. So don't go there.
Just saying... From another perspective.
