Favorite Tv

Favorite TV shows. Wow,  over the years there has been easily too many to mention here.  Starting from childhood in the late 1950s to the present. Two old favorite TV shows from growing up were Hawaii Five-0 1968-1980, and Magnum Pi 1980-1988. Both crime dramas set in the backdrop of Hawaii.
When Hawaii Five-0 returned I was glad to see the series rebirth. The main characters returned, and some new ones were added, but the biggest change was that the character of Kono, which was now a woman. Okay, it all worked well and the updated series was, and is, a hit to me. I've never missed an episode thank to the modern technology of the DVR. I was a bit concerned when two of the main characters left the show, Chin Ho Kelly & Kono. Glad they didn't have new actors portray the old characters.. that generally doesn't work for me... but developed new characters to replace and round out the team. Works for me... CBS writers did a good job. Still love the show.
Then came the rebirth of Magnum Pi. It took me a couple of episodes to warm up to the new cast, but it worked for me... even the change that has Higgins this time as a woman.
So I've enjoyed watching both of the new shows every week. Both are on CBS. The original shows did not air in the same years... but now, the two shows are aired during the same season. Hawaii Five-0 being established for several seasons and Magnum in its first season...airing on different nights, but both on CBS,  I have been wondering not so much if, but when the two shows will have a crossover of characters. When will Steve McGarrett & company meet Magnum & friends?
This past week we got the first hint of a crossover. The character of Duke from Hawaii Five-0 an HPD officer, made an appearance on Magnum. It was brief... but there it was there. I guess it can't be long now until CBS plans a bigger crossover between the two shows. Like the CBS shows of Chicago Series ( Fire, Medical, & Police), it would be great to have a crossover of the two Hawaii shows. Makes sense to me. And so we shall wait and see.
