Thinking about the hurricane, watching the coverage... it's hard to believe that people in the extreme danger zones that were told repeatedly to evacuate still stayed. New Bern had a forecast of 17 foot tidal surge. The weather channel news actually talked via phone with a resident trapped in New Bern... saying how much danger they are in, and admitting how much of a fool they were for staying... going up to second floor due to flooding. The worse is yet to come, and emergency services will have to risk their lives to try to save them. Kinda goes to the old saying... how stupid can you be? Days and days of warnings. My heart goes out to the great losses of property and homes, and how their lives will be affected. They have estimated that 1 million people have evacuated the Carolinas. Great coverage with The Weather Channel. Y'all stay safe.
Thank goodness for The Weather Channel. Local news media as usual has much to be desired... Filled with commercial after commercial. You'd think that when major stories are happening that they'd report the news without commercials.
