Gone forever?

What was once the original entrance to Tomorrowland from the central Castle hub in Magic Kingdom, was replaced some time later. The very futuristic twin water towers were replaced by... Futuristic rocks? Some how I miss the connection. In any case the futuristic rocks are a part of the Tomorrowland entrance and have been for many years,  and this will probably never change. I guess through necessity or by sheer whim, someone decided to replace the twin water towers with rocks. Go figure.
The the concept of the futuristic twin water towers lives on in Tokyo Disneyland... where I have to assume that they were considered to be much more impressionistic of the future then rocks. But, judge for yourself.

Signs...

Hope Y'all are having a great day.
After careful consideration and much reflection, I have come to believe that fate, for lack of a better word, sends you a signal as it were, to guide you through your daily activities. When everything goes exactly right, it's a signal to continue on with the belief that you can accomplish anything. So go for it! On occasion, the signal is a message to stop... Stop everything you are doing. When every little thing, no matter how small, absolutely and continuously goes wrong... it's time to stop. Trying to force or work your way through or past every thing falling the wrong way,  will only result in aggregation and no matter how calm and good matured you are... things are not going to change. Simply stop what you are doing. Take a break, take a walk, take a nap and consider that most if the day, if not all of it, is a time to relax, reflect, and do absolutely nothing. So I will put on my "fixin' to" shirt to convey to others that may see me... that I'm doing nothing today... all day. And I'll will start fresh tomorrow if the signs are favorable. Now, this may sound like a guy thing, but I assure its very real, and not simply an guy excuse. So for today... I will relax, do nothing, and be happy all day long. Big smiles all around. Perhaps I'll think about doing a nice relaxing 2 mile walk about. Notice I said "think"... I'm certainly not going to do that when I have a perfectly good swing on the deck and a good internet connection. Go figure. Y'all have a great day. Oh look... Squirrel!

Signs

Signs... life is full of little signs. And if you are superstitious then life is full of even more signs. Little signs, or premonitions if you will, that make you think that about the day ahead. Should I do something that I wasn't planning... or more importantly, not do something that I was planning? Have you ever changed the way you go somewhere,  only later to find out that there was a serious accident on the way you usually travel... this will make you think about ... "signs". So there you have it... Believe it a little... Believe it a lot... or don't believe it at all. The rational me leans towards not believing at all... then the emotional side gives way to believing it a little. And on rare occasions, believing it a lot more. Something to do with fate warning you in subtle ways. So how do you know the difference?  Everything happens for a reason. So when you ignore a sign... is fate whispering..." I tried to warn you".  So what do you do? The rational verses the emotional. To each his own... moment by moment... you as you will. But maybe you have been warned.
So... given that... my morning coffee with creamer... maybe I won't take that walk in the woods today... or maybe all week... or maybe all of October. I hate clowns.

Most fun...

The most fun time or the year at Disney... Halloween nights at Magic kingdom. The Not So Scary Halloween Party. The park is decorated and as night falls the party begins. The atmosphere comes alive with Halloween themed special shows and entertainment. Cast members and guests alike don costumes to add to the festive evening. Sights... sounds... colors... and music adds to the excitement. Special lighting, fireworks, and of course the Boo Too You Parade make it all the more special.  Then there's your favorite rides and along the way, plenty of "trick or treat" locations to collect sweet treats so you can elevate your sugar high. Yep... my favorite time of the year at Disney.

Morning coffee

I was barely awake... I made my coffee. One to wake up.. then two,  to simply enjoy a well blend of coffee, sweetener, and flavored cream. I heard a faint whisper.. "soon... very soon".  Then a image appeared in my coffee as a added the creamer... and again a faint whisper..."the bewitching season draws near". Tis a sign... yes, a sign... 31 days of Halloween 🎃.

Irrational

Irrational...Emotional... Irresponsible... Impulsive.
" Lets do anything destructive to promote our cause".
Coming up again in the news... People are offended by monuments and any reference to anything confederate related to the civil war... thus related to slavery.
Okay... I get their point... "black lives matter"... yes... how about all lives matter.
"Stop discrimination of black people"... yes... how about stop all discrimination.
Getting to the point:
They claim that due to slavery, which was abolished 160 years ago, that they, today, are discriminated against, persecuted against, and that black lives matter... and whatever happens today, is a direct result of the slavery issue during the civil war.
Anything Confederate / Slavery offends them and therefore should be removed, destroyed, and vandalized to convey their message that black lives matter.
NOW... JUST THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A MOMENT.
How irrational can they be? What happened 160 years ago has no rational bearing on them today... Other than an emotional irrational response that they say deeply offends them when they look at anything confederate... because they are offended by slavery. IT ENDED 160 YEARS AGO!
Do they want towns, cities, roads, schools, and anything else bearing the names related to the confederate civil war renamed to remove any  remembrance of the slavery issue? ... because black lives matter?
Do they want any thing connected to the issue if slavery removed, so they are not constantly being reminded about slavery, and being offended? Remove all references to any thing or any one that was involved with slavery? Yes. They do!
So I guess anything related to honoring those connected to slavery should be removed... it offends them... and brings up emotional scars that affects them in their everyday life...  making it impossible to have a happy life.
So what's next? Remove anything that references or honors those that owned slaves? Well... maybe that doesn't offend them that the countries founding fathers and first 12 of 14 presidents owned slaves. Great monuments, states, cities, towns, roads & highways, schools & colleges, and even our currency bears the remembrance
of people that owned slaves. Washington,  Jefferson,  and many others who's names appear every where... but this doesn't offend them? Or is this next on their list?
Irrational... emotional... irresponsible... and impulsive behavior... And yet the news media and elected politicians give creedance and support this type of behavior... why? Local governments allow demonstrations, by people outside the community, even from outside the state, to demonstrate knowing that there is the greatest potential for social unrest and violence to eruption.
Perhaps it's time to get a grip on reality... Today's reality... and exercise and promote your cause in a positive manner... not blaming events of 160-250 years ago as to being the cause of their problems today.

New bathroom

New bathroom in basement.
Yay... the lower level bathroom is finished and inspected. Nice big shower, lots of hot water. The work was done by Remodel USA. Contractors were exceptional and very professional and meticulous to do an exceptional job. Some changes after the original contract were granted at no extra charge. The outside walls were originally not planned to be covered, but were finished at no additional charge. They also added a linen closet and two extra ground fault outlets in the bathroom at no extra charge. Very happy and pleased. As with an construction project there's always some hick ups... all were handled without skipping a beat. #remodelusa

Disney slow?

Disney slow in attendance?
Here's a good article from one of my favorite Disney Facebook sites ( not affiliated with the Disney company). Good and interesting reading about lower attendance at Disney World. There seems to possibly be many possibilities for lesser crowds. No doubt a combination of several factors as discussed in the article. As for myself... I fall into the category of all the price increases as well as all the seemingly incidental but prominent charges for for extra things. We are not returning this year, nor the next, and perhaps to infinity and beyond due to raising costs. Peak season additional pricings for admission, hotels, merchandise,  and food. Extra premium charges for extra additional fast passes. Charges for over night parking at resort hotels, and the latest increase of charges for transportation in the Minnie minivans. It all adds up until you have unwittingly spent 30 to 50 percent more than the last visit. But it should be a boom to those without financial constraints. But that's just my thoughts from my perspective. Nevertheless an interesting article.  It also bothers me that some things are being cut back on or eliminated,  like the night time parades at Magic kingdom... SpectroMagic and the Electrical Light Parade having been missing for the past 24 months. Things that are part of general admission are being scaled down, but things that cost you extra money are being expanded upon. Just saying.
