Future Plans in 1972

We all know what was part of Disney World when it was first opened. I found an old map that must have contained not only the opening park and hotels… but plans for the future that never happened. So I wonder what the plans were. Here’s the map.  There’s Magic Kingdom, the Contemporary Hotel (E), Treasure Island (D), The Polynesian Resort (A), Fort Wilderness Campground (C), and the Ticket & Transportation Center (B).

The big question is… what was planned for locations 1, 2, and 3. We know the the Grand Floridian is now at location 1, but what else was originally planned? And what was planned for location 2, which looks Persian… and location 3?

Just a point of curiosity, so if you happen to know the answer, we’d all love to know.
