I guess it really all started in the old west with the covered wagon. Of course that was for the most part a means to travel from one place to another… once you got there… you built a regular house or cabin. With the on set of motorized vehicles… the same desire to travel in comfort from one place to another became a sort of luxury… although seeing pictures the early attempts… the word luxury really doesn’t come to mind… but it still was mostly a means of getting from one place to another while having some modern conveniences with you… particularly a roof and a place to sleep.

…they all sure look happy…
Since there are basically two ways to enjoy the luxury and convenience of Rv’s… vacation travel or full-time Rv living… perhaps we need to go beyond the American experience of the early years and the covered wagon.

Go back to where the essence of full-time rv living began … traveling and living on a permanent basis began in a basic hard covered wagon-home. Generally associated with a group of people that embodies almost exactly what full-time rving is…”Gypsies”.
Having no fixed permanent home, just wondering around taking their home with them and everything they own as well. Of course modern Rv’s do have a bit more to offer… now that’s what I’m taking about… luxury! … anytime…anywhere you want! So if the term Gypsy is what mostly applies… I’m ready to spend the rest of my life… on the road… again & again… finding a new place to stay and enjoy the scenery. Guess we’ll have fresh fish for dinner again. ( from the grocers… of course ).
