The camping season has all but come to an end here in the mountains of Virginia. The labor day holiday has come and gone… as have the guests… and just about all the staff. Only 3 couples remain to staff the resort through the end of October and the Halloween weekends. The Halloween Weekends are the last hurrah after which the park closes for the winter. The Office, store, game room will be open all winter and the only sites available are the super site in the lower section. Looking forward to all the fall colors and the Parkway… all the Halloween Fun… relaxing a bit… and heading back to Florida before it gets too cold here. Snow & ice have not been part of the picture for 6 years… and that’s not about to change. The summer has gone by so fast… but it seems like it’s been forever since we have seen friends in Florida and Disney. Haven’t been to active in my blog this summer… pretty much all the same stuff all summer. Enjoying the cooler summers here, having fun with the guests & staff, enjoying the mountains, enjoying day trips to Mt. Airy and the surrounding area, enjoying quiet evenings around the campfire, hayrides, paddleboats, live entertainment, fun & games, and just cruising around the resort on the golf cart. We have had Kayla & Brianna here for extended stays of several weeks, and Brandi has visited the resort, and we have visited her and family to the north, enjoyed steamed crabs several times, and just plainly have had a great spring & summer. Family, friends, good food, great times, peace, quiet, contentment, and happiness…. and someone special to share it all with… what more could anyone possibly want. We are taking off a weekend soon and go to visit Brandi again, see other family, and have steamed crabs one more time before we head south. We get to have Brianna for a couple of weeks again this fall… can’t wait… but the time will go by so quickly… and we won’t see Brandi or the girls for another six months. Time will go by fast… but it will be a long six months. Already told Disney of our return and we will go right back to Caribbean Beach Resort… just like we never left. Plan to work 2-3 days a week… than 2 a week… but mostly have fun! Still can’t get enough Disney!Well… this is enough for now… catch you all later.
