Unnatural Story

A Unnatural Story
I would guess that everyone has things that they experience that fall completely outside the normal life experiences. Or perhaps not. Maybe its a rare experience that few people have.

I have had several unnatural experiences in my life that can not be explained, except in terms that contradict anything close to a  normal human experience.

I went to stay overnight with a friend that was doing in home health care. The patient was bed ridden. The house was in a town in Havre de Grace Maryland high on a hill overlooking the Susquehanna River.

The house was built in the late 1800s. Even the most modern upgrades were dated to the 1940s. It was interesting to see and explore the downstairs of this very old Victorian home. The main living room downstairs was about 60 foot wide and 20 foot deep. Six columns supporting the upper floors were spaced around this main room. Old dark heavy wood themed the room. Wood carvings were in the moldings and trim work. The furnishings were symbolic of the room itself... dark large heavy and clearly old, but in pristine condition. The stairs off the kitchen lead down to the basement. The basement walls was built from large creek stones. The floor was fine crushed stone, again with huge columns to support the house.  It was like stepping back in time, in new condition as if it was recently built. Very interesting. The kitchen itself was what you'd expect to see from the 1940s.

I slept very comfortably on the large sofa in the living room. What followed next was in any term... Supernatural.

I had a reoccuring dream that lasted all night. A very real feeling in a vivid dream, that involved a young girl, perhaps 10 years old, that was trying to get me to take her down to the river. She wore a white  summer dress with blue trim. She would repeatedly take my hand asking me to go down to the river with her. It seemed that all night we would very slowly go down hill, pausing frequently, as she continued to plead with me to come on, come on, lets go to the river. When I woke up in the morning it didn't feel like a dream, but an actual conscious experience. Very unusual.

My friend told me I had to come upstairs to see this room. Going up the torrent staircase like in a castle was a experience to itself. The bedroom was directly over the living room, and nearly as large. It was a childs room. Everything was old, very old. A canopy bed was between the windows. Each window had a large cushioned seating built into the window. All the furniture was very old. Wooden and cast iron toys were everywhere. Old photos decorated the walls. In the sitting windows, the cushions were lined with beautiful old dolls. So strange, the faces of the dolls sitting in the windows had half their faces, that faced the sun, all faded, as were the dresses they were wearing. The other half facing away from the sunlight was perfect as if brand new. Clearly the dolls, and everything in this room, although immaculately clean, had been undisturbed for many years... frozen in time.

The rest of the story came the next day. The patient told a story about her sister that died in the 1941. She had left the house, went down to the river by herself... and drown in the river. The bedroom above the living room that I saw, was her room. Left exactly as it was when she died. She was going to be ten years old just days after she died.
Photographs of her were in the sisters room. She was wearing her favorite summer dress, the photo was black & white, but the sister said she loved that dress,  it was white with blue trim.

( I don't have the actual photos)

Quite the unusual experience,  seeming so real to a state of disbelief. There are things that can not be explained.

And now you know the rest of the story.
