Not completely dead... but close.
Toxic Society has posted anything and everything controversial to render the premise of friends keeping in touch almost completely devoid of friendly communication. Topics that, to my belief, and apparently to many others, belong somewhere other than Facebook.
Full of controversy and advertisements, it has driven most people to stop posting or to leave the format completely. Sadly its no longer the format for friends simply keeping in touch. Some good friends hang on to the original concept... but clearly everyone has been affected by the toxic content.
