"By the numbers".
The news media keeps reporting that there is a huge disparity of the numbers of whites vs blacks receiving the vaccine. In fact, they report, by the numbers, twice as many whites get the vaccine verses blacks. (first issue... why is everything always expressed as racial comparisons? ).
The media expresses this disparity leading you to think that it's due to racial prejudice. (second issue... Given today's social climate, why does the media report stories that only represent part of the truth taken out of context, to lead you to believe a misrepresentation.)
By the numbers... 21% of 50 million people have received the vaccine.
By the numbers... 60% of the population is white... 13% is black.
By the numbers... 60% of 50 million is 30 million.
By the numbers... 13% of 50 million is 6.5 million.
So yes... by the numbers... many more whites have received the vaccine verses blacks... BUT THAT'S DIRECTLY RELATED TO PERCENTAGES OF POPULATION.
NOT TO ANY RACIAL DISPARITY OR RACIAL PREJUDICE.
THE MEDIA NEEDS TO STOP MAKING EVERYTHING SEEN RACIAL.
For the rest of us... DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU ARE TOLD... and more importantly, what they imply that you should think.
