Got the rv bug in the 70s... yes the 1970s almost 50 years ago... yes, I'm old. Then in 1983 I got my first rv. A 24 foot Class C motorhome. Went everywhere for vacations, weekends, and quick evening getaways to the local lake for fried chicken dinner. Loved it so much that I planned to retire going full time rving. Planned it for 10 years with a countdown that started at 100 months. Later 100 weeks... then 100 days. Towards the end I think my coworkers were almost as excited as me. People would have lots of questions. Where are you gonna stay or park? Walmart? How do you live without electric? Batteries? Where do you go to the bathroom or wash up? Gas stations? How will you live without a phone. Payphones? What about a computer connection? Nothing? What about tv? Vcr tapes? How do you get your mail? Really? All good questions with good answers.

And after rving for a while, we even (okay, just me) would say that we are homeless and have been living in our vehicle... just to see their reaction. Sometimes I'm bad.
Okay... I'll tell you now. We stay in Rv Resorts or campgrounds, never parking lots. Stay in rv resorts / campgrounds and we have 100 amp electric service to the rv. Also water, sewer, cable Tv, and wifi internet. Duh... cell phones! (yes, even in 2003). Mail can go to most resorts and campgrounds, but most like us have a mail fowarding company. Which collects our mail, holds it, and sends it to us as directed. It also serves as our legal resident and mailing address.
Btw... the rv has a full bathroom with shower, king size select comfort bed, a complete kitchen, generator (when power fails), satellite TV, 50" tv with suround sound, dvrs, video games... two a/c units to keep us cool, two furnuces to keep us warm, artic insulation package to make it energy efficient, and a fireplace for heat and atmosphere. It's 40 foot long and has three bump out slides, yielding plenty of living space and cabinet storage throughout the rv. Basement storage provides extra storage for the man stuff. Only thing it's missing is a hot tub.
Go where you want, stay as long as you want, follow the weather (winter in the south), and enjoy nature and entertainment areas like Orlando, taking a multi month Disney/Universal vacation. Or stay stay at the beach for a month. Where ever the whim to travel takes you. It's a wonderful lifestyle... one that those in a traditional conventional home bound life may never fully understand. Full time rving... Some question it... some dream it... and the fortunate get to live it. New places, new friends, new adventures... all in the comfort of your home on wheels. Living in different places for 1-2 months (not just a vacation) and moving on to new adventures and new discoveries... total freedom to roam thus country. Priceless!
