It doesn't matter the day, or the time of the year... or even in a lifetime.I have, and always had a hard time accepting how people in general can not simply get along. Logically and with the literal thought process, the main culprits always seem to make it to the top of the list.
Greed, prejudice, and despite your belief... religions. Greed and prejudice perhaps have been around since mankind existed... perminated and refined through out time. Religions by the hundreds all have at some point been corrupted by prejudice. Once in their purest form, religions have been at odds with each other to the point of wars and countless human deaths and suffering. Inviting prejudice and social division against anyone and everything that is not in accordance with their beliefs. Even in today's refined religions there's always the element that continually seeks to force their beliefs upon everyone, even if peacefully by influencing government to enact laws to force compliance. What motivates governments? Besides defense from other countries, there's still the elements of greed and prejudice coupled with the same concept predicated by religions that everyone should conform to their beliefs and lofty ideas of morality and how they should live. After all, that's what most wars and hostile intentions are predicated on. The leaders of most countries influenced by these factors have created a global mentality that everyone is a threat to not only be defended against, but want to exert their influence to make others conform to their countries social beliefs... always resulting in continuous wars.
Global societies are all lead down this path. Some are righteous, some are not, but no matter the circumstances, live and let live is never part of the equation.
What would the world be like without hatred, prejudice, greed, and religions that in a wide range of degrees, create social division and prejudice, while wanting to excert control upon others.
It seem that the vast majority of people can and do get along, live & let live, even help each other when needed. So why do the few govern and dictate how governments act when its against the csocial concept of the majority of its population? Idoeno... maybe that's just the way I think.
If just for the next generation, stop teaching kids to be prejudice, and get religions back to their purest form, how much the world would change. Of course this is only a dream. There will always be greed, prejudice, corruption, and religions that pit everyone against one another. Why can't people, followed by governments & religions simply get along.
Throughout history of mankind, its been related in one form or another that god, or gods from the ancient past, came down from the heavens (the sky, from someplace outside of thus earth) to develop, influence, guide mankind. Hopefully with the concept of getting along. If we, as global society, indeed were and are an experiment of such lofty aspirations... then we would be viewed as a failure. Would the slate be wiped clean, as with the great flood, to start all over again in hopes of a better finished product? Something to think about.
Perhaps reather than all the negatives of mankind filtering down from the top (politicians & government), it would be nice if the general population could just set the example to get along, one day at a time, stopping prejudice and rejecting greed & corruption, and have the vast majority influence the minority in control. Yep, dreaming again.
Well... That's my thoughts for today. Countries, governments, and religions will never change. Live & let live is a lost concept. Peace is only is momentary illusion.
