GOLDEN YEARS

G  Go to the Doctor much more often (not necessarily a bad thing)

O  Oh,  who are you again? (sometimes a good thing)

L – Limp… yep… definitely walking with a limp (hopefully not too often)

D – Deaf? … Only selectively (conveniently a good thing)

E -  Exercise is merely a train of thought (but still makes you feel good anyway)

N – Naps! Now a welcome thing. (kids didn’t know how good they had it)

Y – Yes, Okay… is the easiest answer, then do what you want anyway. (yes!)

E – Early to Bed has nothing to do with being wise. (and not merely a choice anymore)

A – Aches… it’s how you know you’re still alive (but reminded a bit too often)

R – Remembering Stuff…. I don’t think so! (again… selectively… but don’t tell the wife)

S – Seriously? … Being serious …It’s a thing of the past! (part of the second childhood)

Quote: All Good things come to those that wait. Depending on your perspective and outlook on life, this can be very true. I waited for the love of my life… and found her. I waited for joy of grandkids…. and have them. I waited for less serious lifestyle… and got it. I waited to be at peace with myself… and have it. I waited for more time to enjoy life…. and found it. I waited to do things that were important to me ( more than the 8x5x365x30 years of work ) than just working to pay bills… and got it. I waited to travel more and make new friends… and got it. I waited to win the lottery… okay… still waiting for that one. But, you see, it can be true, All good things do come to those that wait… and maybe plan for it a little. Dreams do come true, and there are happy endings. Second childhoods really happen. Not much is worth getting upset or worrying over… maybe that’s the “wise” thing coming into play. So you see, it’s all good. Some of the aches don’t seem so bad anymore…. [ relaxing sigh ] ….  [moved knee] ouch… that hurt! … And just maybe… a wiser outlook on life… is the key to living a bit longer. Less stress and more inner “peace”. Have a Good Day!  Guess I’ll have to exercise that knee. Yes, Okay!
