They always say history repeats itself… so here’s a cute little story. Two years ago we had Kayla with us. While driving along we saw a squirrel running along the ground. I said … “Look Kayla… there goes a squirrel” . Kayla looked over and with all certainty in her voice, she proclaimed … “No Poppy… it’s a beaver”. Of course I corrected her… “No it’s a squirrel”. And again she replied… “Nope, It’s a beaver!” So… wanting not to have her start off life thinking that a squirrel is a beaver… I explained that… “Kayla… that is not what you think it is… it really is a squirrel… believe me”. Her final reply after Mom-mom had finally had enough and decided to end this conversation which could have gone back and forth another ten rounds… cause that’s what kids do ( small or big ) … Kayla’s final reply was … “Okay Mom-mom & Poppy… I hear you… it’s a squirrel… … … … but you’re wrong… it’s a beaver!”
Now we have Brianna with us. We’re watching Tv and a young singer, a teenage boy, is singing in a commercial. It was one of the kids from a Disney show. I said … “Look Bri there’s the guy from “The Suite Life on Deck” … Cody”. And Bri looked over and with all certainty in her voice, she proclaimed … “No Poppy… it’s a BieBer”. [ deja ve ]. With a little chuckle to myself… Of course I corrected her… “No it’s a Cody”. And again she replied… “Nope, It’s a Bieber!” So… wanting not to have her start off life thinking that a Cody is a Bieber… I explained that… “Brianna… that is not who you think it is… it really is Cody… believe me”. For those of you that don’t know…. Bri though Cody was Justin Bieber…. and when she says Bieber, it sounds like Beaver.
Funny how I find little things that simply amuse me…
Gee… I can’t wait until we have Lizzi with us so I can see how the final chapter plays out. For good or bad, Kayla sets the tone for the others to follow. While they are all completely different… there’s some things that happen and… “History Repeats Itself”.
Just though yall might enjoy this little story. Amusing to me!
