Fall Colors on Skyline Drive

There’s nothing quite as beautiful as the trees changing colors in the mountains in the fall. On the way home from Brandi’s we were going to drive down Skyline Drive from the Front Royal Entrance. The Day before we left was a beautiful sunny day. Our planned trip along Skyline Drive was sidetracked by cloudy, gloomy, rainy, chilly, weather. Sure would have been nice to experience it once again. Love the mountains, but I also love the warm winters in the south… if only they had mountains in Florida… perfect. Anyway… since we didn’t get to experience it first hand this year, I thought I’d just check out some photos of the drive from previous visits. If we had been able to make the trip, it would have still been a bit early to see everything in full color, so here’s some shots of what’s still to come later this month. That’s the great thing about photo’s… bringing back memories.

 

Yep… breath-taking. Maybe someday… we’ll get the chance to see it again… in person… and not just have to look back at the photo’s. So, if you live close enough to enjoy the fall colors… don’t take them for granted… enjoy every color that mother nature gives you… stop & smell the roses so to speak! Enjoy!
