Road-trip to the Beach!

A beachRoad-trip to the Beach…. always a good choice. Lots of things to do at the beach…. my favorite is just simply collecting shells… no great trophy award winning shells, but still small treasures in their own right. Photography… well, that goes without saying… anytime and anyplace… beach (2) then there’s always just doing nothing but walking in the cool wet sand… playing tag with the waves… and just looking at the ocean while enjoying the breeze. I could do nothing all day long! But sometimes the beach is crowded and we have to share with others that are simply flying buy just to tell us that they were here first. beach (3) Watch out… I think they are massing for an attack! Okay… we’re safe…it was just a fly-by. The water is crystal clear, the sand is clean and soft, and you can even see fish right from the shore. Little treasures everywhere. We have found a lot of coral along the beach… nothing bigger than 2-3 inches but it’s beach (1)still nice to find. Some is old and rock solid… some is newly broken off and like a piece of foam rubber … soft and squishy. If you keep a close watch in the water you might even get a surprise and see something swimming by. You can pretty well rest assured that it’s not something you generally see back in Maryland.beach (5) Keep the camera handy and ready to shoot. The water is a bit cool here in the winter, so most of the beaches are fairly deserted… and that works fine for me. So even a trip to the beach can be quite a treat!

You do have to also keep a look out for lobster… they can get quite big here… when they are small they will run away from you… beach (4)when larger it may be a good idea to run away from them! No one has ever die from a lobster attack, but they have been known to tear off your legs first. This is a picture of one that they captured on land for all to see. So be ye warned! They bite!

Gotta run… that fence doesn’t look too strong!
