Baltimore Ravens Football
and Lamar Jackson.
Everyone has their own perspective, their own impressions as to his abilities to take the Ravens into the playoff and eventually into a Super Bowl. But first he needs to consistently perform at higher levels. We have had glimpses of elevated ability followed by his inability to consistently be good... or even mostly be good. And with those inconsistent performances, he has a lack of awareness to achieve ongoing success.
I've never thought of him as a smart player. He has moments of clearity but never consistent with making smart decisions, or personally performing well. His only saving grace in bad decisions was to run the ball, which he did well... but now with injuries, he's has no way to escape those times when he has poor judgement and performance as a throwing quarterback. Very inconsistent for which there is no escape, resulting in losses. And as the new season began, the football commentators predicted great things like going all the way to the super bowl and winning. The same predictions of hope and dreams as in past years... only to be followed by disappointment, and this year is no exception. Jackson is mediocre on a good day, and even that is fading fast asthe season progresses. Struggling to even have a winning season. They a one loss away from loosing the top spot in the division... by passing the wild card spots... and barely holding on to a spot of being in the "hunt".
My perspective... hopeful, yes... but realistically... not expecting any good out comes. Their only chance to make the playoffs is to win the division, which may be possible since all for teams are really crappy.
Jackson's elevated performance is mostly wishful thinking. The final games of the season will be an uphill battle, probably filled with despair and disappointment. But that's not going to be a surprise.
Predictions in blue... Sad expectations.
Raven will not win the Division
and not make the playoffs.
Finish the season at 8-9.
With a bit of optimism.
But it would be nice to be wrong.
