We'll just have to wait and see. Typically new breakthroughs either fade away of take decades to get approval for use.
One thing that has always puzzled me. People on the path of no return... They are going to die, no matter what. And even if the new drug or treatment isn't approved for people... how could it possibly hurt to give a not yet approved drug on those that have no hope... simply because it's not approved. Hundreds and no doubt thousands have died waiting for approval.
The new drug or treatment certainly can't hurt people facing an already certain death. Besides, it could be given as a test, research to better advance the drug or treatment to benefit others. Some would say that its simply experimenting on people. But shouldn't that option or choice be left up to the people that already have a death sentence. Seems to make sense... Instead of the government making the choice. But, it's just the way it is, and always has been, and always will. Just like today, the government making personal life choices.
