Police Shows

Tv Police Shows... Crime Dramas

They all follow the same procedures... or should I say the writers all have the same mentality on writing the shows. True to form or writers just writing what they think plays good. Idoeno.

Now, me being me,  all logical ...
many things simply don't make sense.

Law enforcement sees and approachs the criminal... from 30+ feet away... they shout the criminals name... giving them the opportunity to take off and run... Now they have to chase them.

Criminal is running away... they may get away to shoot others, or take hostages. Should have just shot them... They can't out run a bullet.

Criminal gets away... Takes a hostage... tells law to put down their guns. Idoeno. Criminal watches to many tv shows. I'm not putting my gun down... if you shoot them,  you are going to die. So, punk... do you feel lucky?

Walking up to the suspects home, they talk to each other not paying attention,  while the criminal hears and sees them coming, flees or starts shooting at them.   Go figure... not paying attention. Really?

The criminal has been shooting at people and the law... the law catches up to them getting the drop on them... how does it always end up in a knife or kung fu fight. Should have just shot them... dead... Problem solved. And no fighting.

Police always... always shouts... stop, police! Criminal never stops.
Now they are back to chasing them. Just shoot them.
How does that go again?  Is it stop, police, then shoot?
Or is it shoot,  then shout police?
Oh,  that's why I'm not in law enforcement.

Gun fight with criminals. How is it that the police only have hand guns and the criminals have automatic weapons? Really?
And while the gun fight progresses... why to the police repeatedly shoot wasting ammunition... Only to run out, or have that dramatic moment... Only two bullets left.

Police are confronted by numerous criminals with automatic weapons. Police shoot one of the criminals, they're down... police only have their hand gun... and then move on... WAIT... PICK UP THE CRIMINALS automatic weapons!

Then there's the whole horror movie dramatic move... Lets split up!

Police always assign two officers out side to watch & protect the person in the house. They might as well wear RED SHIRTS (StarTrek)...they always get killed.

Police always say... They can protect people if they testify... They almost always get murdered.

Then there's the early clues as to the killer is... and you watch the investigation stumbled on and on... as you shout at the TV... I know what's happened and who did it... then several scenes later,  they finally figure it out. Finally!

Well... That about covers it.  Drama and suspense is the writers main objective. Based in reality... Doesn't seem logical.
