Second to none...

Second childhood.  I've been compiling a list of all the possible things that change from being a normal adult to reverting to a second childhood.  Retirement brings you back full circle to all the things that were part of you when you were a child. Some good,  and some laughably not so good.  Like everything,  ya take the good with the bad. The number one most important thing about a second childhood is not what you do,  or what happens to you... But your frame of mind and outlook on life.
There is no drama, you simply won't let it in. The negative cares and concerns of the world are not part of your life anymore. Few things if anything,  bothers you. You enjoy a calm existence, with no contention or drama.
You life is filled with a carefree existence and you return to the wonderful childhood of experiencing simple things like the joys of nature. Watching the sunrise and all the changing colors,  watching dusk turn into night... seeing all the stars filled with the  wonderment of it all. Seeing wildlife through child like eyes. Carefully catching fireflies, holding them in your hand... flashing, then flying away. Watching a hummingbird at the feeder. Feeling the evening breeze and smelling the scent of honeysuckle in the air.  Simply stopping to admire the contrast of the beautiful blue sky with the snow white clouds against the relaxing green of the tree and grasslands. The pattern of the farmers crops in the fields. Not knowing or caring what date it is, or even what day it is. Everything seems new and exciting. Did I mention anytime naps? Not withstanding all the things not mentioned here, related to a second childhood... a carefree life is the most important. Having someone to share it with its priceless... Like my sweetie. Hope y'all have some carefree time while you're still in the adult would.  I'll see you when you get to your second childhood... I'll save you a spot on the porch swing.
