WDW Monorails

WDW Monorails. Looking back to growing up,  the monorails were an attraction to themselves.  Over the years some of that childhood excitement and exuberance has diminished,  but riding the monorails is still a treat, especially from the TTC , ticket & transportation center, to Epcot. We've done the hotel circuit to visit the Polynesian,  the Contemporary,  and the Floridian. But can't remember the last time we used the main line from the parking lot to Magic Kingdom.  We generally use the big ferry, or most times we the boats from the Wilderness Lodge.  Nevertheless,  the monorails still hold a special place in our Disney hearts. Prior to 2009, we enjoyed riding in the cockpit with the pilots... That was really special.  The current monorails are aging and are said to have exceeded their projected lifespan... hence all the mechanical issues. It was reported that a new fleet was ordered, but later that determined not to be the case.  Was hoping to see the new version of monorails that Disneyland now enjoys. Probably not any time soon. I can't imagine Disney scraping the monorail system, but nothing really surprises me any more. So here's a bit of a salute to the WDW monorails.
