It's simple...
Yep... It's simple... Can't come to an agreement?
Rock... Paper... Scissors... Spock!
Problem solved... It's time to move on.
Rock... Paper... Scissors... Spock!
Problem solved... It's time to move on.
Make it a law?
Make it a law... It will solve all our problems. Right? You truly have to wonder how the political leaders of this country, and their supporters, think that you can simply make a law about something... And the problem will simply go away.
These are the people in charge of our country?
There will always be division among the population generally with a 50/50 split on just about every issue and his to solve a problem... but a little common sense please. The mentality of, or religious agenda, to control or solve problems has gotten way out of hand.
Laws on drugs... Didn't solve the drug problem.
Laws on guns ... Won't solve any problems either.
Except to try to remove guns from a law bidding citizen... The good guys. Which in many cases is more of a deterrent than the fear of the police.
A homeowner with a gun... defending his home, his property, his family, and himself from criminals, is certainly more scary the the police that are 15 minutes away.
I concede your rights to live as you wish without denying your freedoms... STOP trying to take away the rights of others. Would you sleep better knowing that you and your neighbors were totally disarmed and at mercy of armed criminals? Or would you feel safer know the you had the ability to protect your family? Your choice... I'd rather be the bear to the wolves (criminals) than the helpless sheep to the wolves.

Keeping it fresh...
Keeping it fresh... Disney is always changing and updating shows and attractions.
Rumor has it...as rumors go... nevertheless...
The Enchanted Tiki Room has been around for a long time. So what's the appeal?
Well, it's just a nice little show, not that it's anything over the top new or spectacular. But on a hot day, it's a welcome escape into a calm cool relaxing atmosphere. We will generally hit it once per visit... kinda like Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion... They're classics. And as I said, a nice break from the heat of the day and the crowds. Updated every several years... but still a classic. As rumor has it, the new updated version will feature Moana. Seems like a good update. Enjoy.
But y'all know how rumors are.

Bare bones...
Getting down to the bare bones of the issue... deep down we are all the same.
In reality, take away prejudices... same result... All the same.
Well, maybe with one exception. But it's all good!

Crab cakes
Crab cakes... The real thing verses the lame imitations. Outside the Bay area of Maryland, I don't really think anyone knows what a crab cake should be. There are a few exceptions, but not many.
First off crab cakes should be like 98% crab meat, preferably jumbo lump crab meat where you can still see the lumps of the crab meat... The other 2% is a little moist bread crumb mix to simply hold it all together... Along with some spices... Mainly "Old Bay" seasoning.
NO peppers, NO onions, NO leafy greens, NO celery, tomatoes... And especially NO CORN!
Traditionally they can be fried or broiled. Generally, anything smaller than 1/2 pound of crab meat is a crab ball... in which case there should be at least a 1/2 dozen of them. They should be light, fluffy, and standing tall... not smashed it down into a Crab Patty or as we like to call him crappie patties.
Okay, I know its Disney... You generally pay more and get much less quantity and less quality... which most times is under stated.
Here's a recent offering from the Boathouse Restaurant. Billed as jumbo lump crab cake for $24. And while this might appear to be good to those not from the bay area, it's certainly lacking on many levels. All of the "South" has this same perception of what crab cakes should be... I guess, to each their own. Some even bill their version of the crab cake as being Maryland Style... I think not! Once in Key West, we asked the waiter what's in their version of the Maryland Crab Cake? He returned to the table and asked us... Can I ask you a question? Sure... Where are you from? Our response... Maryland. His response... Well, being from Maryland, there's lots of other things on the menu that you'd enjoy. That about days it all.

Here's some examples of what is masquerading as crab cakes versus the real thing. It should be easy to tell the difference. My particular favorite... The double crab cake dinner. Two 8 ounce, no filler, broiled jumbo lump crab cakes with all the trimmings. French fries, fried biscuits, cole slaw, apple butter, cottage cheese, green beans, pickles beets, juice, a drink, and a pickle/celery dish. It's a little bit of heaven.

Parking $$$
Parking your car at Disney. There's always been a free to park your car at the parks... Okay, I get that... Even though that cost goes up every year.
Until recently parking at Disney resort hotels, when you are staying there as a guest, always had free parking... Like every other hotel across the country. Then Disney decided to start charging resort hotel guests a fee to park your car at the resort while you are a guest staying there.
I guess there was no guest backlash for these parking fees from guests, even though there was nothing you could do about it anyway.
To me, it all seemed like part of the plan to make every possible extra dollar from guests from anything they could possibly change extra for. Having experienced Disney for years, the normal was to pay for the resort room, admission to the parks, and the only thing extra was food and merchandise. Now there is a growing mountain of extra fees and privileges that can be purchased to enhance your visit. You could actually almost double the total cost of your vacation over and above the cost of the report stay & park admission, which themselves continue to go up every year. But maybe that's just me. I was use to the way things where for those days of Yesteryear.
In keeping with getting the extra dollar, anywhere they can, the cost of simply parking your car at the Disney resort hotel, when you are a guest, is going up... And there's nothing y'all can do about it if you drive to Disney.
My only question is why does a parking space cost different prices at different resorts? Answer.. The ability to pay. Which is in itself the crux of the entire price structure on everything at disney... The ability to pay.
There's lots of advantages to staying on property as a Disney guest... And you are going to pay a premium with extra fees for those advantages. Just saying.
Here's a "share" film a recent Facebook site about the process and the increases.

They're back...
They're coming back... I'd buy one. Relive those classic carefree years if the 1960s... But without that classic VW engine sound. Still... looks like fun. 2022!

New selections...
New selections being offered at Magic Kingdom. On a positive note, new offerings are always fresh way to get guests to have more choices... And that's good. From a negative perspective... They need to makes changes because the old choices are either "tired" and have a track record of not being too good... Most times both. And it's always good to try new selections... One because they are generally very good when they being offered. And two, the new choices haven't been around long enough to let them slide into the not so good category. So enjoy the new offerings.
These shrimp truly look good.

Blah...blah...blah.
Some days you feel like talking, some days you don't. Several times during each day you feel the same way.... very social... then not so much. Sometimes you are genuinely interested, some times not so much. As you get older, "not so much" tends to creep in more often. You really try to be polite, intently listen... But your brain translates everything to blah, blah, blah... blah, blah. Getting older seems to lend itself to becoming less social. Your world gets a little smaller as time passes.
You loose contact with friends, or in reality, they pass away, so your pool of friends grows smaller and smaller. It's part of life. We all want to live a long as possible, but I can't imagine living to be 90+ or even 100... realizing that just about everyone you knew, every one you loved, and all you life's experiences... Are now distant memories. Everyone and everything you knew is gone. That seems really sad.
So... make the most if each day... despite the blah, blah, blah syndrome. But its still okay to just occasionally feel and hear blah, blah, blah... blah, blah.
Which is exactly what your are feeling right now... right?
Later dude...

Haunted?
Haunted? They say by 999 ghosts. Another classic must do ride at Magic Kingdom. Plus it gets you out of the heat of the day for a while.
Backyard
Here's a couple of backyard ideas for your campfire gathering. I particularly like the swings. Don't forget the marshmallows.

Today's kids
Today's kids... I don't understand it. Me... a senior citizen... We may have been ever so slightly some of these things when we were kids... but nothing like today's kids. Why ever so slightly? Because we got the fire knocked out of us for even starting to do this any of shit. Just imagine how they will be as adults. Lots of the 20 & 30 something's now are filled with drama, think everything is unfair, and are actively offended by stuff that doesn't affect them. They can not see anyone elses view point, they can not simply agree to disagree... They want to force their views upon everyone else. And the new generation of kids will grow up even worse.
Social unrest is a home grown manifestation of the latest "me generation" taken the ultimate degree. Most of them unfortunately will never grow up.

Star Wars Stuff
Star Wars stuff... I knew it would be pricey... but...
(and the older you are, the more you think it)
Have they lost their minds?
Maybe its just me!
(and the older you are, the more you think it)
Have they lost their minds?
Maybe its just me!
But, if you want it, and gotta have it...
Or... As my grandfather would say...
"You've gotta be shitting me".

WDW Monorails
WDW Monorails. Looking back to growing up, the monorails were an attraction to themselves. Over the years some of that childhood excitement and exuberance has diminished, but riding the monorails is still a treat, especially from the TTC , ticket & transportation center, to Epcot. We've done the hotel circuit to visit the Polynesian, the Contemporary, and the Floridian. But can't remember the last time we used the main line from the parking lot to Magic Kingdom. We generally use the big ferry, or most times we the boats from the Wilderness Lodge. Nevertheless, the monorails still hold a special place in our Disney hearts. Prior to 2009, we enjoyed riding in the cockpit with the pilots... That was really special. The current monorails are aging and are said to have exceeded their projected lifespan... hence all the mechanical issues. It was reported that a new fleet was ordered, but later that determined not to be the case. Was hoping to see the new version of monorails that Disneyland now enjoys. Probably not any time soon. I can't imagine Disney scraping the monorail system, but nothing really surprises me any more. So here's a bit of a salute to the WDW monorails.
History
History... much more than we know today...
And not always what we have been taught.
Science can explain lots of things...
And some things simply can not be explained.
Detailed maps of Antarctica when it wasn't cover with ice & snow.
Thousands of years ago... Who made them? And when?
