Hiking in the woods.
A walk in the woods... The trails of Shenandoah National Park. Shenandoah National park stretches 105 miles, as the road winds, from north to the south along skyline drive. Traveling the mountain crest through the park is the Appalachian Trail. But there are 500 miles of internal hiking trails to enjoy nature. Everything you'd expect from nature and more. Plus added elements of human inhabitance from long ago. Stone structures, some estimated to date back to the early 1700s and 1800s. Some perhaps earlier. All with a story to tell... most with unanswered questions. The people that lived here and what their life was like. All in all, still interesting.
