Gloomy

On the brighter side of life...
If all you have to contend with is some clouds, dew, and fog...
yep, it's the brighter side of life...
All things considered.
Y'all have a great day... Even if it's a bit gloomy.

2020 vision...

2020 vision....
Need I say more?

Then & Now

Disney... Then and Now.
Before the pandemic... and now.

 BEFORE

NOW

So... if you choose to take the risk...
and don't mind not have some attractions...
(fireworks, stage shows, parades)
and can deal with masks in the heat,
and the distancing wait requirements...
Disney is pretty empty.
Strange to see indeed.

2020

2020... the black hole of life.
The world wide pandemic has changed life.
And Social issues in the states are out of control...
Politics, politicians, racism, prejudice, protests, demonstrations, riots, home grow malcontent terrorism creating chaos and destruction, black lives matter movement, gay rights movement, crime, and economic and financial stresses are all a bit much. Complicate this with attitudes about personal freedoms verses social responsibility, and the "its all about me", "I'm offended by everything", and no one can simply agree to disagree and wants to argue their perspective... well, its the perfect social storm to tear away at society. The pandemic only magnifies the anxiety over the issues.
Yep... 2020 is the black hole in life.
Older folks know how to cope from lifes experiences.
Twenty, thirty, and forty something's as simply angry.
Young adults and teens can not cope with normal life let alone this.
Yep... 2020 is the black hole of life.
We will remember the past... we will live the future...
and we will do our best to forget 2020.
Be strong... keep the faith.

Drama

Life is full of drama. You either limit and avoid it,  or you find a way to live in drama everyday. The hopeful and the hopeless. Or if you prefer, the helpful and the helpless. One tries to help until they give up, it useless. The other can not be helped by others or help themselves.

Research

After much consideration and repeated attempts on numerous occasions, I still remain undecided. Apparently much more research is needed to determine the final outcome. I will consider your thoughts on this matter,  but still feel more personal testing is needed. Go figure. The next issue... sauces. This may take a while.

Unhappy?

Unhappy?
Sometimes it's things out of your control.
Sometimes it is! More than you think.
How much do you do to yourself?

Happiness is...

Happiness is... taking a step back from all the problems in society today... And reconnecting with nature.
Ahhhh. I feel better already.

Social climate

The social climate for today's kids.
Recently had a grand child say that they wished they lived in another country... not America. They think they would have to endure the current issues that plague this country. Today's teenagers coming of age trying to deal with adult issues that some adults can't deal with.
Granted.... 2020 is probably the worst social situation since WWII, and the Vietnam war. When I graduated from high school, being drafted and thrown into an unpopular war in Vietnam facing a high risk of not surviving it... well, that was grim beyond belief.
Today's kids are more aware of social issues than ever before fill with pitfalls and emotional situations... that most are not ready to deal with.
We've talked... and I can fully understand the feelings with all that is happening.  Ongoing political corruption for years ... 3 1/2 years of intense political / social division... the BLM movement and more social division ... the senseless destruction and vandalism by protesters... the entire virus issue with massive changes and more social isolation and division... the racial issues as a whole... prejudice against the gay community... crime issues... and school issues coping with the virus. ALL CREATING MAJOR CONCERNS AND SOCIAL DIVISION. Add to this the "is all about me" ... "I'm offended by everything"... "can not agree to disagree"... media sensationalizing news stories"... and social medias that pump their mind full of fake news, half truths, and some one elses agenda. Then add physical isolation, social isolation, resulting in a stunted ability to function and deal with the social issues in life. No wonder anyone would think that this is terrible state of things. Add to this the belief that they shouldn't have to emotionally have to deal with current issues, don't want to, and aren't mature enough to be able to deal with them anyway. Then there's the grass is always greener concept. Mix in the lack of appreciation for what they have verses what they want. All this makes the perfect storm of negative emotions. As an adult I'm fed up with it all too.
Them wanting to leave this country... well, like the saying,  the grass is always greener on the other side. Life is not all flowers and filled with Disney magic. It's a shame they have to deal with this all. Just like we did... They'll just have to grow up a bit quicker and learn how to deal with life.  Helping them understand this... Probably not an easy task. Them having the ability to learn and understand is something else. They are destined to learn from their mistakes more than previous generations.  Such is life in an imperfect world.

2020

2020... What's not happening...
Everything we didn't know it would be...
Nothing we thought it would be.
But y'all know all this.
Thinking of past places that won't happen this year.
And perhaps not next year either.

Night sky...

Night sky on the mountain...
Get away from all the issues of the day. Simply the night sky and the stars is breathtaking.  Add time lapse photography and see the milky way. Then have the bonus of the comet. Nature at its best.

Bears

Bears.... It's a big year for bears on the mountain.  Not hard to find them.  The park was closed for the months,  so I guess they got use to being about everywhere with no people around. And they're not shy about people now that the park is open.

I feel better

I feel better...

Perspective

It's all about perspective...

Short supply...

Good news is in short supply.
But no matter the news... There's plenty of attitude to go around.
And more than enough people being offended by everything.

Bandwagon

The proverbial bandwagon ...
Jump on... or leave it go by.

Looking

Looking for inspiration in all the wrong places...

Protestors?

Protesters / rioters / home grown terrorists.
First... Protesters championed the rightful cause, peacefully.
Then... Rioters joined them to wreak havoc and create chaos.
Then, NOTHING short of home grown terrorists have continued and perpetrated social division and mass destruction advocating extreme violence and destruction.
Government (local/state/and federal) have failed to recognize the difference between protestors and terrorists. They are afraid to take any action, which would have to be harsh and perhaps brutal, since the terrorist groups are indeed radical and violent, because government doesn't want to be perceived as the bad guy.
Terrorists?  Yes! If people from another country came here and did what they are doing,  they would be deemed terrorists, and they would be shut down in the harshest of terms...  quickly.
Why should they be treated any different?
Enough is enough. This has gone on too long.
But that's just my perspective... You are completey entitled to your own beliefs and perspective. I just cannot see the benefit of all the violence and destruction. It not only deminishes the original peaceful cause and its message, but does exactly the opposite, creating social  animosity both in resentment.  And for some, creating more social racism issues, actually hurting the cause. But it should be clear,  their violence and destruction neither has or had any concern about racism or its injustice issues. Now sections of cities are being held hostage going on 60 days. Seattle and Portland.
Again, far be it for me to ask you change your perception to mine. Believe as you will.  I simply can't see or comdone the continued violence and destruction in the name of a righteous cause. Doing exactly what they contend they strongly oppose to prove a point.
