Only time will tell if this is my problem…
Most of the summer and into the fall I enjoy drinking iced tea. Iced sweet tea to be more precise. Trying to be a bit more health conscious, I was using Splendor in place of sugar. At first I had mild knee pain associated with swelling and inflammation, which I thought was just from activity. As time progressed the pain level increased, and become more widespread throughout my day. Not lasting a mere day or two, but occurring everyday. Somewhat intense upon waking, then easing up, then getting worse in the afternoon, and by 3pm reaching a very uncomfortable pain level of 8 or 9. Of course the more I rested, the more sweetened iced tea I drank. Lunchtime was especially a good time for tea. Everyday by 3-5pm I was really suffering with leg muscle and knee joint pain. Even my hands felt somewhat swollen. Racking my brain, trying to determine the cause...what had changed over the past few months? After weeks of suffering and plans to go to a specialist, I thought about Splenda. Did some internet research, and hopefully I have found the cause. Years ago I had a reaction to Sweet n Low affecting my eyes...again as a iced tea sweetener. Sure hope this is the cause, and my body can dissipate the Splenda chemicals so I can get back to normal. Thought I'd pass it on in case anyone else is experiencing this problem.
