An early morning trip to the beach to relax and find shells.

Hot Topic

GUESS AGAIN...THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL POST.

No one can usually agree with everything that someone else says, but there is always great value to something that is well said. The idea, the concept that freedom of religion does not mean that YOUR BELIEFS should be forced upon others is something that is lost in Christianity. Religious oppression against any one not believing as them is not religious freedom, it's oppression and prejudice. Religious leaders and religious advocates openly seek to force and imposed THEIR BELIEFS upon everyone, and condemn those that do not conform. All this while so called good Christian followers support their actions. Having morals means treating others as you would want to be treated. Having religious morals only applies to you if you believe as they do, otherwise you will be openly judged, condemned, prosecuted and oppressed. How can this be true Christianity? If this is not the case, then why do good Christians not condemn those Christians advocating oppression rather than supporting them? I've never heard any Christian leaders of advocates condemn another so called Christian advocate for promoting prejudice, condemnation, and persecution of others because they simply don't believe everything that they do. Religious oppression is injustice, and has nothing to do with any kind of freedom of choice. Why is religion so keen on trying to force everyone to their beliefs? Idoeno anymore... Religion in the mainstream seems to be more about the oppression and total control of others. Very sad, I grew up in the church and somehow thought Christians were suppose to be different. Well, that's my little rant fur the day... For what's it's worth. If you are a Christian, and allow your leaders to advocate oppression, you may have to question either your religion, or the religious leaders that advocate prejudice. It's a pot calling the kettle black thing. Tell me this is not true! If you can...and I would suggest a reality check may be in order.

To play… or not to play?

To play, or not to play… that is the question.  At some point in time, everyone has been exposed to some form of dressing up in costume. Most commonly during Halloween. Dressing up as ones favorite character from TV, movies, or stories. Taking this to the ultimate and realistically creating a costume, accurate in every detail has created the term “Cosplay”, which is anything but your normal Halloween event that happens any time of the year. My first remembrance of cosplay dates back many years ago to Star Trek conventions when people would create ultra realistic costumes and dress up as their favorite character. aa828befab30d96baa20c3e0381f8274

Thinking back, I'm sure the world of "cosplay" existed in many forms across many genres long before I started to take notice, nevertheless, it's a whole world of extremely serious costume reproductions and events to showcase their creativity. People create their own costumes, most times spending hundreds of hours of custom tailoring, that easily cost hundreds of dollars. The more serious Cosplay costumes can easily cost thousands of dollars to realistically create a masterpiece. All of this may seem more familiar to folks under 40, but probably exposure to those over 50 years old is somewhat less mainstream. We have all heard of Comic Con conventions, and perhaps seen a little about them, but seeing some of the creations… well, it’s nothing less than truly amazing. This happens on a global level and is a world wide culture all to it’s self. Here are some for those amazing recreations.

These are not Disney costumes but recreations by Cosplay individuals.

Amazing that people personally create this level of costumes
and makeup, as well as being in character as if doing a performance.

Simply wonderful.

Some even have photo shoots to highlight their great work.
Some create different costumes
and travel different world wide events.

and wonderfully new to others,
nevertheless, simply amazing.
