Compliments?
I was recently told that I have a “wonderfully curious mind”.
Okay…. I can live with that!
While talking to a student of psychology, the conversation came around to a topic of sociopaths. They explained that they were very good at spotting all the signs. I ask if I had any signs of sociopathic tendencies. They looked at me and smiled… then laughed… and proclaimed absolutely not… you’re just plain nuts!
So, for what’s it’s worth…
I’ll take that as a compliment!
Sometimes, ya come to the End of the Road.
Fun in the Sun!
Ahhhh…. The Beach.
Yes… Toes in the sand!
Look… a note in a bottle…
Idoeno!
Now what to do?
Yep… Life’s a Beach.
Heading back to Disney Soon…
Fun, family, friends… and memories.
Bucket List includes… Turkey Legs!
We have been gone too long.
Traveling fever.... and we are off the Disney. A stopover to see friends for three days.... and then onto Orlando. Can't wait to hit the road. Ready to make some more memories and just get lost in the Fantasy and Magic of Disney. Of all the places we have traveled, I guess we can call Disney pretty much our home on the road. We always seem go back there to be with good friends and have good times. I could use a little magic and fantasy "escape" several days a week. There have been many great times with family, friends, and coworkers over the past ten years of Rving... wow, where has the time gone... and who's that old guy staring at me in the mirror? ... but we always come back to Disney. Sometimes the best reality includes a good helping of fantasy. Hit me with some of that Pixie Dust.... ahhh! Pirates, Princesses, Safari, and Castles. Then and a trip around the world. First stop Canada, then United Kingdom, and onto France.... ahhh, French pastry. Stopping of in Morocco, Japan, Italy, Germany, China, Norway, and Mexico. Yep, travelin' fever.
If you are from the Maryland Area…. there’s nothing like a Maryland Crab Cake. Jumbo Lump from the Maryland Blue Crab… right from the Chesapeake Bay. 95% meat with a just little bit of filler and spices, just enough to hold it together and give it flavor. It start with the crab.
Catch them… put’em in the basket.
Big and close up…
Steamed… Ready to pick…
Eat or Pick for Crab Cakes…
Ahhh… Perfect Cakes.
Traveling else where in the country there are variations of the crab cake. To someone from Maryland… they are all failures.
Scissors cuts paper, paper covers rock,
rock crushes lizard, lizard poisons Spock,
Spock smashes scissors, scissors decapitates lizard,
lizard eats paper, paper disproves Spock,
Spock vaporizes rock, and as it always has,
rock crushes scissors.
WHY WON'T SHE ANSWER THE DOOR?
knock,knock,knock... Shelly...
knock,knock,knock... Shelly...
knock,knock,knock... Shelly...
SHE'S NOT COMING TO THE DOOR
knock,knock,knock... Shelly...
knock,knock,knock... Shelly...
knock,knock,knock... Shelly...
WHY CAN'T SHE HEAR ME?
Must be the increased molecular density of the atmospheric patterns that have made sound vibrations impossible to traverse the room, thus making acknowledgement of my repeated attempts to get her attention futile...
or perhaps she's wearing headphones again.
Darn!
knock,knock,knock... Shelly...
knock,knock,knock... Shelly...
knock,knock,knock... Shelly...
Double Darn !!

Hello… Perhaps it’s time to get back on the Grid with my blog. Over the past two years, Facebook has been my primary way to stay in touch with family and friends. I will still be on Facebook, but over the past several months, and especially last fall, it has become increasingly too political (among other issues)… so my involvement has become ever more limited. Plus there’s the fact that Facebook has a lot of issues that many friends don’t want to deal with. Facebook does have the benefit of two way communication while my blog is only one way communication… so I guess I’ll use a bit of both. One benefit of a blog, is that many of our friends that are not on Facebook, can follow our adventures on the blog… and stay in touch with two older forms of communication… E-mail and telephone. Then there’s always the ancient invention of hand written letters via postal mail. For the younger folks, and to refresh the memories of older folks, “letters” were actually hand written on paper (or cards) with a writing utensil like a pencil or pen. The document was placed inside an envelope, addressed to whom you wanted to send it to, postage applied, and then mailed. Several days later, someone received a special hand written letter to brighten their day. Kinda hard to believe that not too long ago, hand written letters was the only way to communicate other then in person…. before electronic communication via computers, and before the telephone… which looking back at phones, were unbelievably house bond to physical wires. Of course there was the telegraph way back in history that was the bridge between the written letter and the “wired” telephone. BTW… do they even have pay phones any more? … or has they slipped into the realm of ancient artifacts?
Anyway… watch for future entries to my blog while we share new adventures and catch up on new ones. Aside from staying in touch with old and new friends… one of my underlying reasons for having a blog is to have my grand kids, sometime later as they get older, to have the ability to read about me and my life… and perhaps get to know me in a wider sense. There are many things that I didn’t know about my parents as they grew up, and even less about grand parents, and only bits and pieces beyond them. So perhaps my blog will serve to convey information well beyond my life. Perhaps as a positive influence. That would make me feel better knowing that I would be thought of long after I’m gone… and not just be a vague memory, or an unknown great grand parent.
So, thanks for reading, and watch for new entries a time goes on. Stay happy and enjoy life.
And to quote a famous person from the future… Live long, and prosper.
