Easter Bunny S’mores!

Happy Easter to All.

EasterOval
Hoping everyone has a joyous Easter Holiday... cherish your time with family and friends. You may see them all the time, or perhaps just occasionally... but time spent together is a memory that only happens once... and then it's passed. We miss family, friends that we consider family, and all our old friends and new friends. Someday, when you can not be together, those cherished memories will always bring a smile to your face... where ever you are... forever. Have a Great Easter... stop to "smell the roses" and savor all those moments... for your memories later... for they will bring you comfort and joy... and warm your heart.

Compliments?

Compliments?

I was recently told that I have a “wonderfully curious mind”.
Okay…. I can live with that!

While talking to a student of psychology, the conversation came around to a topic of sociopaths. They explained that they were very good at spotting all the signs. I ask if I had any signs of sociopathic tendencies. They looked at me and smiled… then laughed… and proclaimed absolutely not… you’re just plain nuts!

So, for what’s it’s worth…

I’ll take that as a compliment!

Church & State?

Quick Question: First off, let me say to each his own beliefs. Having said that... I don't feel it's proper to imposed and force anyone's beliefs on others. What ever happened to the founding fathers proposal... separation of church and state? Which always sounded good, but in reality overlapped in many areas... that continue to be ever increasing and invasive today. Why does the church's religious beliefs influence such heated debate and government involvement to dictate laws to be imposed on all the citizens, regardless of their religious beliefs, or lack thereof. Church's and their followers have the right to have their beliefs... But, where did everyone, as in all of us, loose our freedom of choice, that the beliefs of some, should be imposed on all? ... and where will it stop? Religions worry about loosing power to influence followers... so the government is the continuing puppet for religions to control everyone and force their beliefs on all. Perhaps the government, or more importantly the "Constitution" and the "Bill of Rights" should limit the influence of the church's... Namely our FREEDOM OF CHOICE! Then we wouldn't have endless debates on issues that should remain"personal choices". How does anyone defend any body of influence imposing their beliefs on everyone.

Disney Bound…

We have been gone too long.

Traveling fever....  and we are off the Disney. A stopover to see friends for three days.... and then onto Orlando. Can't wait to hit the road. Ready to make some more memories and just get lost in the Fantasy and Magic of Disney. Of all the places we have traveled, I guess we can call Disney pretty much our home on the road. We always seem go back there to be with good friends and have good times. I could use a little magic and fantasy "escape" several days a week. There have been many great times with family, friends, and coworkers over the past ten years of Rving... wow, where has the time gone... and who's that old guy staring at me in the mirror? ... but we always come back to Disney. Sometimes the best reality includes a good helping of fantasy. Hit me with some of that Pixie Dust.... ahhh! Pirates, Princesses, Safari, and Castles. Then and a trip around the world. First stop Canada, then United Kingdom, and onto France.... ahhh, French pastry. Stopping of in Morocco, Japan, Italy, Germany, China, Norway, and Mexico. Yep, travelin' fever.

Crab Cakes

If you are from the Maryland Area…. there’s nothing like a Maryland Crab Cake. Jumbo Lump from the Maryland Blue Crab… right from the Chesapeake Bay. 95% meat with a just little bit of filler and spices, just enough to hold it together and give it flavor. It start with the crab.

Catch them… put’em in the basket.

Ahhh… Perfect Cakes.

Traveling else where in the country there are variations of the crab cake. To someone from Maryland… they are all failures.

WHY WON'T SHE ANSWER THE DOOR?

knock,knock,knock... Shelly...

SHE'S NOT COMING TO THE DOOR
knock,knock,knock... Shelly...
knock,knock,knock... Shelly...
knock,knock,knock... Shelly...
WHY CAN'T SHE HEAR ME?

Must be the increased molecular density of the atmospheric patterns that have made sound vibrations impossible to traverse the room, thus making acknowledgement of my repeated attempts to get her attention futile...
or perhaps she's wearing headphones again.
Darn!

Plan ‘A to Z”

Now here’s a plan….

day to day

Time moves on…

Time moves on… and so do we. Never seems to enough time, be it a day, a month, a season, a year, or even longer, to fully and truly share enough time with family and friends. Full-time Rving solves some of these issues, but also increases them tenfold. You meet and make so many friends as you travel, and then you, and them, move on to travel to more adventures and new places. So here's to family, and all our Rving friends, both near and far... you are thought of often with fond memories... you are missed... and in a perfect world, we could all be together in one place again... to share and enjoy each others company. Many times I've thought how great it would be to just relive a certain time over and over again. For now, photos and memories will have to have to suffice... until we meet again. Be happy and live well. A famous quote from future... Live long, and prosper. Everyone touches our lives, mostly positive, and in ways that perhaps yourself or they might never realize. So all are family and friends become a part of us, traveling with us everywhere we go. In our hearts, and in our minds... happy times shares together. In bits and pieces, you define our life's, and hopefully we, yours. Missing family, old friends, and current friends that we must soon leave behind, as we all move on.

Back on the Grid.

Hello… Perhaps it’s time to get back on the Grid with my blog. Over the past two years, Facebook has been my primary way to stay in touch with family and friends. I will still be on Facebook, but over the past several months, and especially last fall, it has become increasingly too political (among other issues)… so my involvement has become ever more limited. Plus there’s the fact that Facebook has a lot of issues that many friends don’t want to deal with. Facebook does have the benefit of two way communication while my blog is only one way communication… so I guess I’ll use a bit of both. One benefit of a blog, is that many of our friends that are not on Facebook, can follow our adventures on the blog… and stay in touch with two older forms of communication… E-mail and telephone. Then there’s always the ancient invention of hand written letters via postal mail. For the younger folks, and to refresh the memories of older folks, “letters” were actually hand written on paper (or cards) with a writing utensil like a pencil or pen. The document was placed inside an envelope, addressed to whom you wanted to send it to, postage applied, and then mailed. Several days later, someone received a special hand written letter to brighten their day. Kinda hard to believe that not too long ago, hand written letters was the only way to communicate other then in person…. before electronic communication via computers, and before the telephone… which looking back at phones, were unbelievably house bond to physical wires. Of course there was the telegraph way back in history that was the bridge between the written letter and the “wired” telephone. BTW… do they even have pay phones any more? … or has they slipped into the realm of ancient artifacts?

Anyway… watch for future entries to my blog while we share new adventures and catch up on new ones. Aside from staying in touch with old and new friends… one of my underlying reasons for having a blog is to have my grand kids, sometime later as they get older, to have the ability to read about me and my life… and perhaps get to know me in a wider sense. There are many things that I didn’t know about my parents as they grew up, and even less about grand parents, and only bits and pieces beyond them. So perhaps my blog will serve to convey information well beyond my life. Perhaps as a positive influence. That would make me feel better knowing that I would be thought of long after I’m gone… and not just be a vague memory, or an unknown great grand parent.

So, thanks for reading, and watch for new entries a time goes on. Stay happy and enjoy life.
And to quote a famous person from the future… Live long, and prosper.
