[ This entry is not targeted at prescription medications which serve mankind well… I think ]
If you believe the advertising… yes, there is a pill for everything. Why pills? … well anything in liquid from is still too close to the cure-all remedies ( that we all know were simply a hoax ) of the previous two hundred years… miracle elixirs, magic potions, and snake oils. All of which play to human aging condition, vanity, and real health issues for which their products have no benefit beyond your own mental attitude and out look. So if you look at the billions and billions of dollars that are spent on the modern miracle elixirs… or if you will, magic elixirs… or if you prefer… magic pills… you see that the message is still the same. People are willing the trade their hard earned money for a magic pill that will solve all their problems. Okay! So why does the intellectual evolution of 200 plus years come down to the same false hopes… well, your guess is as good as mine. Society has become more educated, but advertising has become more cleaver, and the sellers of “magic pills” still sell their magic pills and potions with the lofty hopes of solving all your problems… just remember… “results are not typical”. Despite all the much accredited independent research studies that prove without question the ability of their magic pills to deliver on the lofty promises… still… “Results are NOT Typical”… now there’s the only bit of truthful information that you will ever be given by advertisers. Yes, people are smarter… but sellers are still smart enough to doop ( doop being a derivative of the word dope ) you out of your money… money that you are willing to give to them in exchange for a magic pill that will indeed solve all your problems. But these advertising ploys are not limited to simply pills and potions. Lotions, foods, supplements, devises, equipment, special clothes, and vanity related medical procedures to make you look younger and feel better about yourself. Guess what… you are still going to get old… you are going to age and look older… you will have health issues sooner or later… and you will not live forever! Despite the empty promises of the advertisers and their products… “Results not typical” or “Don’t try this at home… trained professional drivers on a secure closed safety course”. So why do people continue to spend money on false hopes? Simply that… “False Hopes”… I guess.
So what does “Results not typical” want to do for you?
- improve you memory
- improve brain activity (now there’s a no brainer)
- make you skin look healthier
- make you thinner
- make you prettier
- look younger
- feel younger
- Give you more hair on your head
- Less hair everywhere else
- improve performance : ) … unless it lasts more then 4 hours… :(
- muscles feel better
- bones feel better
- mental well being
- loose weight
- see better
- hear better
- smell better (as in nose)
- smell better ( as in sexual attraction – pheromones )
- be healthier
Well… the list is endless… and no matter what the promises… no matter how much money you throw at it… they (the sellers of the “magic”) will get richer… you will get poorer… and eventually you will still be old, look old, feel old, and since the fountain of youth doesn’t exist… you are someday going to die… just a bit poorer for all the money you spent on “pie in the sky false hopes and dreams”.
So why do we always see commercials for all these products that make outrageous claims and “results are not typical”… people still fall for all their promises… and send them their money. Make ya kinda wonder.
