Seasonal Update

To all our family and friends….

Hope everything is going well for yall and life is treating you good.

Time again for that every so often seasonal update... when the thought crosses my mind or the mood strikes me.

Today is our last day in Lone Star Yogi and the Houston area. Travelin fever is taking hold and if not for the storms we'd already be underway. So tomorrow we set out for a four travel day trip to Missouri.

Missouri... why Missouri you may ask. Just about everyone that worked here the past summer season, and/or the winter season is going to stay together and work in Missouri with Cj and Paula. Someplace new with new adventures... new places to visit, new places to see, and new things to do. And the best part is having lots of working friends with you at the new resort. We had a great team here and just about all of it is going to Mark Twain Landing  near Monroe City Missouri... not too far from Hannibal Missouri and the mighty Mississippi River. Looking forward to lots of new adventures and great food. We're told the campground itself is beautiful and it has a huge water park attached to it, complete with several slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. Should be a fun summer.

Then sometime mid to late summer, we will be returning to Florida to work at Gulf Pines in Milton, and again be working with Steve and Willa. We worked at Gulf Pines a couple of winters ago... very nice campground just off I-10 about 20  miles from white sandy beaches of Navarre. The emerald green waters of the gulf, snow white sand, great food, and lots of things to do.

It's gonna be another great year. Each one seems to get better then the last.

Plus... an added bonus... we will be close to lots of family and lots of friends. Family in Crestview... Kelli, Kevin and the kids, Doug and Cindy, and Louie & Melissa. Plus all our friends from Sunset King. Life keeps getting sweeter.

The down side is... we won't be returning to Disney this year to work. Thought about it all this past winter, and all our friends that are there. Just couldn't make it on the hours that they could provide ( last winter for seven months... averaged only 10 hours per month ). Things change and life goes on. Plan to return someday... but maybe only to visit and not work. So we'll be annual pass holders and enjoy the Magic without having to work. Ahhh... more time to play and have fun with friends.

Yep... things always change... but it just keeps getting better and better. Just miss the girls so much.

Rest assured, we think about family and friends all the time... and miss everyone. Until our paths cross again... may the sun always shine on your face, and you have a song in your heart.

Well... that's our little news of the day. Hope yall stay well and give good.... or is that stay good and live well. ... okay... both.

Catch yall later…

Rodeo…

Dateline: Houston, Texas : My first rodeo…. another thing checked off the bucket list… and I can also check off going to another NLF Football Stadium… Reliant Stadium home of the NFL’s Houston Texans. While not quite the same as seeing a NFL Football game there…  but, all the better that we were there to see a real Texas Rodeo. First we got there early to visit all the vendors in the Reliant Center.

hr

I’ve never see so much cowboy hats in any one place. Hats, boots, belts, and ladies clothes, jewelry, handbags, and all kinds of stuff. Cowboy stuff, cowgirl stuff, farm stuff, tractors, farm exhibits, animals, and all kinds of stuff not even related to what I would consider farm, ranch, or rodeo stuff. Beds, outdoor furniture, hot tubs, home decor, pictures, carvings, rugs… well… you name it, and it was there. Cars, trucks, ranch equipment, horse trailers… everything, and then some. So there was lots to see… everywhere.

Important things like $560.00 Stetsons

Yep… a real rodeo show…

a great day!

Potter…

tumblr_lzzjumLUEa1rqr2jwo1_400

Potter… Harry Potter. I won’t say I’m a die hard Harry Potter fan… but we borrowed the DVD's from a friend and watched them all… and I really liked the whole series. My kind of movies… flights of fantasy, mystery, suspense, drama, action, mythological creatures, medieval overtones, magic, sorcery, spells… good vs evil… and lots of great actors. It was kinda nice to discover Harry Potter and watch all the movies, all at the same time, rather then waiting until next year for the next installment. So if you haven’t seem them yet and this kind of movie might interest you… put them on your Netflix list… and on that lazy or rainy day… get some munchies and enjoy!

Waking thoughts

zzz20100527 (23)

Sometimes you wake up with a random thought... and don't know why... it's just there... maybe to help a friend... I hope so.

(BTW.... I'm fine... as to say... I'm good... no problems... or at least none that I know of.)

When you were kids, your parents told you... "if you can't play nice, then don't play together". The same applies to kids when they grow up, or perhaps I should say get older. IF YOU CAN'T PLAY NICE, THEN DON'T PLAY TOGETHER. If the other person bothers you that much...... IGNORE THEM. Maybe they won't go away, especially if they know they can "get to you"... so forget about them... ignore them... treat them as if you could care less. They still may not go away... BUT... don't worry yourself over them...

Life's too short to let someone else control your happiness.

That bares repeating….

“LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO LET SOMEONE ELSE CONTROL YOUR HAPPINESS!

If this seems to apply to you... reread this several times out loud.

REREAD AND RETHINK WHAT YOU ALLOW THEM TO DO TO YOU AND THOSE AROUND YOU BECAUSE OF HOW YOU REACT. They will make you feel bad and look bad to those around you.

DON'T LET THEM!

>>>> LET IT GO <<<< .... >>>> LET IT GO <<<<

How true... especially when they can do more to hurt you, then you hurting them. Fight the battles you can win... and walk away form the rest.

So what should you do…. KEEP SMILING … and go on your merry way! … it will drive them crazy.

Pill for Everything

[ This entry is not targeted at prescription medications which serve mankind well… I think ]

fdgytuyui

If you believe the advertising… yes, there is a pill for everything. Why pills? … well anything in liquid from is still too close to the cure-all remedies ( that we all know were simply a hoax ) of the previous two hundred years… miracle elixirs, magic potions, and snake oils. All of which play to human aging condition, vanity, and real health issues for which their products have no benefit beyond your own mental attitude and out look. So if you look at the billions and billions of dollars that are spent on the modern miracle elixirs… or if you will, magic elixirs… or if you prefer… magic pills… you see that the message is still the same. People are willing the trade their hard earned money for a magic pill that will solve all their problems. Okay! So why does the intellectual evolution of 200 plus years come down to the same false hopes… well, your guess is as good as mine. Society has become more educated, but advertising has become more cleaver, and the sellers of “magic pills” still sell their magic pills and potions with the lofty hopes of solving all your problems… just remember… “results are not typical”. Despite all the much accredited independent research studies that prove without question the ability of their magic pills to deliver on the lofty promises… still… “Results are NOT Typical”… now there’s the only bit of truthful information that you will ever be given by advertisers. Yes, people are smarter… but sellers are still smart enough to doop ( doop being a derivative of the word dope ) you out of your money… money that you are willing to give to them in exchange for a magic pill that will indeed solve all your problems. But these advertising ploys are not limited to simply pills and potions. Lotions, foods, supplements, devises, equipment, special clothes, and vanity related medical procedures to make you look younger and feel better about yourself. Guess what… you are still going to get old… you are going to age and look older… you will have health issues sooner or later… and you will not live forever! Despite the empty promises of the advertisers and their products… “Results not typical” or “Don’t try this at home… trained professional drivers on a secure closed safety course”. So why do people continue to spend money on false hopes? Simply that… “False Hopes”…  I guess.

So what does “Results not typical” want to do for you?

  • improve you memory
  • improve brain activity (now there’s a no brainer)
  • make you skin look healthier
  • make you thinner
  • make you prettier
  • look younger
  • feel younger
  • Give you more hair on your head
  • Less hair everywhere else
  • improve performance    : )  … unless it lasts more then 4 hours…  :(
  • muscles feel better
  • bones feel better
  • mental well being
  • loose weight
  • see better
  • hear better
  • smell better (as in nose)
  • smell better ( as in sexual attraction – pheromones )
  • be healthier

Well… the list is endless… and no matter what the promises… no matter how much money you throw at it… they (the sellers of the “magic”) will get richer… you will get poorer… and eventually you will still be old, look old, feel old, and since the fountain of youth doesn’t exist… you are someday going to die… just a bit poorer for all the money you spent on “pie in the sky false hopes and dreams”.

So why do we always see commercials for all these products that make outrageous claims and “results are not typical”… people still fall for all their promises… and send them their money.  Make ya kinda wonder.
