It was the perfect plan…
Get up early after a good nights sleep…
but it was neither early or a good nights sleep…
Have a nice long hot shower to start the day…
but it’s an Rv, and it only has 10 gallons of hot water…
Have a good homemade breakfast, eggs, sausage, & home fries…
but there was no time, McDonalds got the nod…
A quick ride and we would be at Disney when it opened…
but traffic was heavy and we were delayed…
Being the first ones into the park was not going to happen…
a slight over sight in my perfect plan…
so a new plan was put forth, one that could not fail…
We took the short cut to get in the back way…
but the road was closed for a marathon…
Following an alternate route would be a snap…
but detour after detour took us miles out of the way…
We finally arrived at the park…
but behind 8,000 other cars…
There’s a parking spot right near the tram line…
but we are too big, and had to park on the far side of the lot…
As I said before, only a slight oversight in my perfect plan…
but I was quite sure this time…
Just hop on the Tram for a quick trip to the park entrance…
but the Trams were not running…
Arrived at the Park entrance… wa-la… get in quick…
but the bag check lines were so long…
Hurry to the ticket entry… the plan was coming into focus…
but the thing wouldn’t read my finger print…
Finally into the Park… quickly grab a schedule… yes…
but now we were behind 10,000 other guests…
Go to our favorite ride… yes, we are there…
but the line is 60 minutes long…
Get a Fast Pass…
but they have all been issued for the day…
Go to our next ride… on the other side of the park…
but the parade block the way…
Not to worry… lets enjoy the parade…
but our view was blocked…
Checked the schedule for our next plan of action…
but it was not in English… it’s in Japanese ?!?!?
Ceased with a sudden inspiration… lets have something to eat…
but there were no seats…
Than a table came empty and we could now sit down…
but the table was dirty…
A quick clean-up and we could eat our hot meal…
but the meal was now cold…
I was quite sure that things were finally working out…
but the wind blew our napkins & stuff everywhere…
Off to see the next show, get there early to get a best seats…
but I had last weeks schedule and the wrong show time…
Not to worry, new schedule in hand, and a new plan…
a new plan that could not fail…
Just made it to the show in time…
but now we are sitting all the way in the back…
As I said before, only a slight oversight in my perfect plan…
but I was quite sure this time…
Walked right onto the next ride… things were coming together…
but the ride broke down and we were stuck for 30 minutes…
Finally got back outside and out of that ride…
but it was during a brief rain shower…
Hey, we thought ahead and got cheap rain coats at Walmart…
but left them at home…
To insure our continued enjoyment we got 3 - $7 ponchos…
but than it stopped raining…
Than I was ceased with another inspiration… Haunted Mansion…
but the little one was scarred to death the whole ride…
Wow, a character greeting, just the one we were looking for…
but the line was already closed off, last greeting of the day…
Headed to our next attraction… things were looking up…
but the attraction was close for refurbishment…
Went back to buy that special toy for the little one…
but the last one had already been sold…
Found the last Disney Pin I need to complete my collection…
( I’ve been looking for this one for 3 years )
but it was on a green lanyard, only good for children…
Figured I’d have Bri trade for it…
but she was no where in sight…
Finally found her and Shelly… rushed back to the pin I needed…
but the cast member was gone…
I needed a new plan that could not fail…
and I was quite sure this time…
I had the perfect plan…
Lets stay for the fireworks…
but it got really chilly and cold…
So we bought sweatshirts and gloves…
but we decided to leave early anyway…
Ah – ha … returned those sweatshirts for a refund.
Bet you thought I’d made another costly mistake again.
On the way out of found that cast member that has my pin…
but it was now gone…
Got down to the boat dock, to the big heated cabin ferry…
but the boat was just pulling out…
Sure was down right cold now… waiting on the dock… (burrr)
for the next boat… without those sweatshirts. (burrr)
After 15 minutes, here comes the next boat… (burrr)
but it wasn’t ours… (burrr)
Finally our boat arrived… (not much of a warm feeling)
but it was the small open boat (burrr)…
We are finally underway across the lagoon… (burrr)…
but had to stop to give way to the main ferryboat… (burrr)…
Underway again… (burrr)…
but stopped again for the water light show… (burrr)…
Finally arrived at the hotel where we left our truck…
but had to walk from the dock to the parking lot…
As I said before, only a slight oversight in my perfect plan…
but I was quite sure this time…
We found our truck and headed home…
what a wonderful day…
lets do it all again tomorrow…
I sure there’s a moral to this story…
but after a day like this… I’m not sure what it could be.
