Magic verses Price

There's no doubt that Disney is the ultimate at creating magic. But I can't help but wonder at what point will prices out pace the ability of the average person to go on a Disney vacation short of getting a second mortgage.  Looking at the comments on a recent disney post about prices, it seems that prices have outreached the ability of multitudes of people to pay the price. All Magic indeed comes with a premium Price... as prices continue to rise beyond the economic ability of the average person.

Elf on...

Well.... he seems to like the kitchen... He's sometimes nice... Sometimes naughty... and sometimes, pays the price for being naughty.

What time is it?

What time is it? Cookie time!

Christmas fire

Cold nights.... cold days... nothing like a warm fire.
Get a hot chocolate,  have a fire, and enjoy some quiet time.

Christmas Past

Visions of Christmas Past...

Magic & snow

Nothing as magical as snow at Magic Kingdom.

Holiday Spirit

There's no better place anywhere to get into the holiday spirit than Magic Kingdom. Basically 8 weeks to fuel the holiday season... starting November 1st through new years. Priceless.

Propane tanks

1. Need a propane tank? If you buy a used tank beware of the date of manufacture. Its stamped on the collar. It's a 2 digit number (month) ... a symbol... And a 2 digit number (year).  Tanks are good for 12 years from date of manufacture (unless stamped otherwise,  sometimes 10 years). If the tank is out of date, it can not be refilled by a propane dealer like Suburban or Bosman.
2. If you get a tank from a company like Blue Rhino (typically in the white cages in front if stores) the 20 lb tank is only 75% full, 15 lbs.  So right away you're not getting full capacity,  and paying more for 15 lbs than you would for a 20 lb refill ( a propane dealer that refills your tank while you wait) ... Generally $20 exchange vs $15 refill.
3. The catch... an out if date tank (your tank) cannot be legally refill by a propane dealer like Suburban. But Blue Rhino can refill exchange tanks that are out of date because at that point , technically they own the tank, and it's legal to inspect and refill the tank, their tank. So many exchange tanks are several years old and quite a few are actually out of date.  Consider this, first the tank is only 75% full, then you're paying more for 15 lbs vs  20 lbs, and finally, the tank is old and possibly out of date. BUT it's a convenience that you pay for, exchange is quick and easy and usually nearby.
4. Options:  need a tank... buy a used on cheap ($10) ... do a tank exchange at Blue Rhino, BUT look for a good date, usually there's a newer tank (1-2 years old, sometimes brand new) on the rack. Note, the newer tanks are usually in the back or bottom shelves...older tanks are right up front. So pick a tank with a newer date, you can see the difference easy too... older tanks have been repainted over several times. You now have a new or newer tank that you can have refill at Suburban, you get more for your money, and have a safer newer tank.
5. But then again, perhaps this isn't that import to you. Exchange with Blue Rhino is  easy and convenient.

Photo Director

"Photo Director" ... a great app for your tablet or phone.  Lots of great features like this one... Automatically remove things from photos with just a swipe...  So what's missing from one of the photos?

December 7th

December 7th, 1941. Amidst all the problems in the world today... Hopefully we will never be complacent to the many threats that face us today... and will not be caught sleeping at the wheel once again. Remembering Pearl Harbor... Those that served, those that died.

Disney changes

Over the years Disney World has made may changes. Some are additions for completely new things that never existed before. Some are modifications.  Some are temporary. Some tear down exiting things to replace them with something new. And some things just don't seem right no matter the outcome.
Examples:
Disney Studios took down the park icon Mickeys sorcerer's hat.
(scratching my head on this one)
Torn down Mickeys & Minnies houses to expand Fantasy land.
(again... Idoeno)
Camp Minnie Mickey gave way to Avatar.
(okay, its all good)
Futuristic twin water towers to tomorrowland replaced with rocks.
(again scratching my head about this too)
Numerous attractions in shows replaced.
(that's a good thing)
The 25th anniversary cake castle ...temporary
(all I can say... big Fiasco, ugly as crap.)
Lots of things... too many to cover here.
👍👎👉✊👈👌👏👎👎👎
Now... Planned for Epcot...
A resort hotel that sits right in front of the Epcot geosphere so that the hotel would block any view from the north (main parking lot) of the park icon.
I always got excited to finally see the sphere when pulling onto the parking lot. Now they plan to block it with another hotel. Sounds crazy to me.
