Secret Place
Do we all have a secret place?
A place to go to, just to get away.
Here’s a dreamy place…
tucked in the woods.
Just imagine how nice this would be.
Quiet, peaceful, secluded.
At one with nature.
Sometimes it’s nice to daydream.
Stones & Wire Art
Sometimes, some things just hit you. Catch your fancy, peak our interest, intrigue you, and somehow catch your attention somehow touching you right to the core of your soul… as if you were mystically drawn to them… mostly historical places, historical events, and sometimes “things”. It’s more than beauty or mere art… it’s something deeper. Can’t explain it, it just is. A feeling that it means more than just something that looks pretty. So kind of connection. Magical? Mystical? Idoeno. But stones and wire artwork medallions / pendants is one of those things. Here’s some that I recently found photos of. I’d love to learn how to do this. If nothing more they are pretty to look at.

Stargazing
Starry, Starry, Night. My view from the end of the campground pier. This is the time of the year when the air gets crisp, the sky gets dark, the air gets thin and ultra clear, and the stars come out to play. It's the time to slow down and enjoy the night sky. Let me set the stage: it's a cool 65°, the air is still, it's a moonless night so the sky is dark, everything is quiet... ultra quiet. Even the water is still, no waves. The stars are brilliant. So many stars. Wish I knew more about the stars, the constellations, and their names. Should have brought my smart phone with the Star App. Nevertheless, the stars are mesmerizing, and I can't but help but feel that these are the same stars that man has looked at the tens of thousands of years... the eternal night show. What they must have thought, what they wondered, and were my thoughts the same as man has experienced for eons. Perhaps the best thing is just to quietly enjoy the show. Awesome!

Right place, right time.
One of the most comforting realizations in life is to look back and think of a wonderful time or place that you wished could have lasted forever, or at least longer... it's even greater to realize right now, today... that the place you are at and enjoying right now... is one of those places. The right place, the right time, and the right people that makes life enjoyable. Hope you're in a place like this, or soon will be... than make the most of it. It's amazing how much richer you life will be. If you are currently looking for that place, even if only for a little while, here's a hint: Life's a Beach here at the Navarre Beach Campground.
Inspired? Yes... Absolutely. We finished work today and took a ride down to the campground pier. The sky was already beautiful as the sun was setting, but going out on the end of the pier gives you a panorama view of the entire sky from the gulf to the west. Words can hardly express the scope of the beauty. As we watched the clouds changing shapes we named all the things we were seeing... good imaginations I guess. All the while the colors were ever changing with brilliant intensities of yellows, oranges, and blues. The water was almost like glass, and the reflections of the sky on the water complemented the experience. As we gazed at the sky we were treated to pelicans, osprey, and dragonflies... and some jumping mullet, but no dolphins today. A refreshing cool breeze rounded out the perfect evening. Somehow seeing the beauty of nature refreshes the soul and renews your outlook on life. Creates a better sense of well being. Such is life, here at the beach. Ahhhh! Thinking of joining us sometime? ... We'll save a spot for you, and we'll keep the campfire burning bright.
Just Waiting
It's a part of our life... waiting, and waiting...
and waiting so more.
Everywhere we go... waiting.
But, sometimes we get to choose the time and place.
and then there’s all that sand.
Wi-Fi Connection
Wi-Fi Antennas for the Rver. (the less costly versions). Many Rvers have laptops and use the campground Wi-Fi internet access. Campground Wi-Fi… It is was it is. This is worth repeating… IT IS WHAT IT IS ! It’s not like at home, it’s not like at restaurants. Campground antennas are spread out, and unlike homes and restaurants, reception is only as good as your antenna in your pc. The small built in antenna in your laptop is not going to give you the results you want from inside your rv. The metal framework of your rv, the other electronics, the microwave, and the general electrical wiring effects your Wi-Fi reception. Neighboring Rv’s add to the reception issues, especially if they have a personal Wi-Fi router sending out a signal from their Rv, which can interfere with your reception of the campground signal. Many rvers say that they can go outside and get good reception, but reception suffers greatly inside their rv. It’s not a campground Wi-Fi problem… it’s your small fixed Wi-Fi antenna in your laptop. Here’s some less costly solutions to correct the problem, but you can spends upwards of $200+ for the best outside antennas, but you probably don’t need them. This is not to say that the campground system doesn’t have an issue from time to time, but most of the time, it’s your small, fixed antenna that limits your reception.
Internal antenna system. This USB Adapter is your new antenna. Buy new or reconditioned. The 16 ft extension cable that’s amplified and shielded lets you place your antenna near a window or ceiling for better reception than you would get via the built in antenna in your laptop. The difference could be dramatic 4-5 bars verses none-1 bar in reception.
External Antenna system. Again, it’s a USB connection with an internal antenna, AND an external antenna option. The external antenna mounts to the outside of your rv magnetically for greater range and better reception (you will need the extension cable).
UPDATE: PACKAGE DEAL
Get both antennas with the adapter for $29.99
comes with extension cable (length unknown)
Both have a easy installation disc and hook up via a USB port.
So there you have it…
the solution to your reception problems.
I have used both and it solves just about every Wi-Fi connection problem.
But remember… campground Wi-Fi … IS WHAT IT IS … there’s only so much bandwidth to go around. Everyone gets a slice of the bandwidth pie. The more guests using the system, the small the pie of bandwidth pie, which means perhaps slower transfer of data.
Campground systems, unlike your home, is NOT designed to do Net-Flix and watch movies or tv shows. This although sometimes possible, basically makes everyone else’s Wi-Fi experience miserable.
So please be courteous.
Wi-Fi is intended for Email, Facebook, web searches, and short videos (YouTube)… not to transfer large amounts of data, like movies.
Hope this helps you improve your equipment, and make a better connection.
The choice is your… get a better antenna, or live with the problems.
Halloween
Halloween…
one of my favorite times of the year.
On the lighter side…
Perhaps this is the ultimate version of the game.
Being more realistic…
adventure, danger, and
you may be on your own.
Halloween… coming soon.
and, just for enjoyment.

Time to relax
Summer vacations are ending, and the last summer holiday has come and gone. The campground seems deserted. It's been a wonderful summer and the campground has been filled with friendly fun loving guests, which has made working here truly a pleasure. Most of the staff will be staying on through the winter and into next spring/summer, but some are leaving to continue the traveling RV lifestyle. They will be missed because they have been a valuable asset to our campground and guest services. What a great season... the campground has never looked better and we recently achieved our periodic survey report...100% guest satisfaction. It's always nice to have your efforts appreciated. It's been wonderful to work somewhere that strives for the best, and have guests that continually show their appreciation for all the efforts of the staff. People make the difference... staff and guests alike have made this truly a wonderful experience for all. Hoping everyone enjoys the upcoming season. Remember, there's always the weekends for a nice little getaway. Soon our snowbirds will be returning, and we will see many returning friends... but we always save some great sites for summer guests that want a bit of the beach life during the fall and winter. This has been a season that gives you that feeling of ... "I wish this would last forever". Thanks for the memories.
So, what time is it? Time to sit back, relax, grab a chair by the water, and chill to some Jimmy Buffett. Can't do this all day you say? Well there's always the hot tub by the pool. Life is sweet!
The perfect seat…

Emotional Attraction
Call it what you will… emotional attraction… spiritual attraction… or simply put, an attraction that you feel towards a certain place. You can’t explain it, it’s simply just there… you are drawn to it as if the was some real connection between you and this place or event.
I’ve always felt that I had a connection to the H.M.S. Titanic. Don’t know, can’t explain it… it just is. A deep feeling somewhat like a kinship that draws you to anything to do with the ship.
The same is true about Ireland. Something just draws my attention, seemingly right down to my soul to pictures, descriptions, or anything to do with Ireland. I remember my parents taking about one side of the family having origins in Ireland. Ancestry connections have not been made to any degree, but I remember something about reference to Ballibay, Ireland. and the possible connection to the family name “Hanna”. Guess I’ll never really know for sure.
I see beautiful photos of places in Ireland, and while it would be nice to someday visit there, in reality, this will probably never happen. So I just have to be content with photos and the feeling of something more.
Here’s a few photos that I recently captured… sure looks beautiful.
By the way, I notice that I continue to have numerous views of my blog that originate from Ireland. Hope you enjoy reading my blog. Be blessed and enjoy life.
Lightening and water
Every night here at the beach has it's own unique personality. Storms passed by us today heading due south. They missed us to the east by just a few miles. Lots of thunder that would vibrate the rv... almost relentless deep rumblings. After dark the storms are off shore in the gulf. The sky was literally electric with heat lightening flashes behind the scattered clouds, followed by streak lightening across the sky and down to the water. Quite the show. About 20 people were on the campground beach front and pier enjoying the show...and what a show it was. Just another day in paradise.

Navarre Beach
Beach Life. I use to think how wonderful it would be to live near the beach… and I was right. We have been at Navarre Beach Campground for two years this November. Got here, loved it, and stayed to enjoy the beach life. The gulf beaches are beautiful, the area is great, and the campground is home… probably for another 2-3 years. Yep, love it that much. Why you may ask? Here’s a few reasons…
The Campground
Need I say any more…
Toes in the Sand.
We also like the Naval Air Station Museum in Pensacola
The Blue Angels
The Gulf Breeze Zoo
Fresh Seafood from Joe Patti’s
and sunsets right from the campground.
Priceless!
