Walkabouts

[FLASHBACK]

Enjoying walkabouts and exploring is truly good for the soul. Seeing and finding natures treasures always seems to make life more fulfilling. A walk in the woods is always especially nice… ya never know what you are going to find.

Plush and green… ahhh… and relaxing.
The sounds of the birds and the breeze through the trees.

This all was certainly interesting to say the least.

Mystical, flowers, herbs, candles, potions, spices, incense,
strange and unusual things, and magical spells.

Remembering what she first told us…
”All magic comes with a price”.

Thanks for the visit.

Back to the woods and the way home…

it will be getting dark soon.

witches woods (12)

Yep, time to leave the woods.

And have adventures another day.

Until next time…
and another walk in the woods.

Salt Life

Web_BrandPage_SaltLife_Hero1

Salt Life? Yes, Salt Life, living near the beaches of Navarre, Destin, and Pensacola Florida. We have been here since November of 2013 and still love the location. Navarre Beach is just far enough between Destin and Pensacola Beach so as to avoid the congested busy tourist season, so getting around with day to day life is easy. But we are still only a short 30 minutes drive to the big tourist areas. There’s always been the attraction to water and the beaches. I just like being near the water. I know, I know… I don’t swim, but I will get wet sometimes. I don’t fish, but I will buy fish to enjoy. I don’t boat, or kayak, or sail.

FB_IMG_1434507165396

I just like being able to walk, bike, or ride the golf cart down to the water any time I want, right here in the campground… or take a short drive over to Santa Rosa Island for white sand, emerald water, and shell collecting.

Besides, anytime at the beach always seems to make any little worries in life simply slip away… at least for a little while. Sunrise, sunsets, the moon shimmering of the water, the night time sky with all the stars… yep, the Salt Life isn’t bad at all. Think we’ll stay a while.

Then there’s day to day life. A recent day off visit to the Gulf Breeze Zoo was the perfect. Our Grand daughter Brianna made it all the more special.

Honor

dfgdfgdgfdfg

620,000 people (Americans) died in the Civil War. Roughly 2% of the population. No matter which version of history you have been taught, the bottom line is these soldier's were your average man. On either side of the war these men were still Americans and should have their memories honored. This hysteria of removing monuments, digging up graves, not allowing flags on graves is sad. It was a rich mans war and a poor mans fight. Just as most Northerners did not fight to end slavery, most Southerners did not fight to preserve it. In 1904 the Confederate monument in Gainesville was erected. In attendance were UNION and Confederate Veterans who both supported the monument. They showed each other respect as fellow Americans. They honored each others dead. Now our commission will hear discussions about actually removing this 111 yr old monument because of this media fueled history witch hunt. Removing the monument does not end racism it only dishonors the American soldier's who died. I hope you will come out in support of keeping the statue and keeping American history alive. We can learn a lot from history and learn nothing by erasing it.

Proud and honorable Americans.

North & South … Both with Honor.leegrant Honor and History… Our History.

Those that seek to eradicate history,

and seek to condemn southern pride and honor,

and deny honor for all those that fought and died,

should examine themselves,

for they have no honor,

and should not be given any respect,

let alone be allowed to force their beliefs and will upon others.

------------------------------------------------

How could the history of the civil war ever be equated to have anything to do with slavery? The war was not started over slavery, or ever about slavery. The north and the south both had slaves. Yes, Lincoln freed the slaves, but if you know you history it was not to do something that was morally right. Lincoln freed the slaves to bolster the union ranks when it was a good chance of the north loosing the war, and he needed the extra men that ending slavery would provide. But the war was NEVER about slavery, neither for the north or the south. Seeing the Confederate Flag as a symbol of slavery just shows the ignorance of their conviction to have a cause that is not founded in fact, but merely being used to satisfy their need to once again to play the prejudice card for whatever they can gain from it. It happened 150 years ago… their situation today has nothing to do with what they think happened 8 generations ago. Prejudice today is a product of today’s social environment. NOT what happened during the civil war. Perhaps when people stop using labels as to ethnic origins, then perhaps we again will all be simply seen as Americans, no matter the origins. Labels create divisions and prejudice.

No News is Good News

NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS.

What a great concept.

We now have watches that give your up to the minute news.

watch

I must be slipping into the old folk era of my life. Most of the time I don't really care what time it is. Nor do I usually care what day, date, or month it is. I don't really care about news concerning world events, politics, government, or what the latest major "cause" is about because they are mostly minor socially insignificant issues, most of which are petty and senseless. I don't need to hear how criminals have more rights than victims. I don't need to know that the best prerequisite to be a politician is to commit crimes and get away with them, and then elevate them because they have no moral of social conscience. I don't need to know who's offended by the confederate flag, the reasons why they are offended, how they want to impose their beliefs on others, and how they think this will solve prejudice issues. I don't need to hear how religions, and those proclaimed self righteous people want to force their beliefs upon everyone else. I don't need to hear how criminals that get hurt by police actions, or inactions, and then their families what to sue the police (society as a whole) on behalf of their criminal relative. I don't need to hear news and realize how completely "out of wack" government, religion, society, justice, freedoms, and basic common sense are, and how far they have gone astray.

SO, I REALLY DON'T HAVE ANY USE FOR THE NEWS.
( Tv… Radio… Newspaper )

how-social-media-is-taking-over-the-news-industry-infographic-df560fe1fe

The new media sensationalizes negatives and every kind of bad news with very little informative useful news... except for the weather, which is generally not so accurate. Perhaps the old saying has a deeper meaning then was once thought...

"No news, is good news".

Or the other saying...

"Too much information can be a bad thing".

I kinda like them both... I'm truly starting to wonder in earnest how long the country can survive with all this nonsense. Just saying.

Grand Girls

Thought’s on recent experiences… Several weeks with all three grand girls.

FB_IMG_1433297144205

I like to think of myself as being rational and logical, even though I enjoy moments (perhaps too many) of carefree falderal where "who cares" levity prevails in the pursuit of shear emotional "just for the fun of it" smiles, joy, and all around happiness. I have come to the conclusion, much to my dismay, that the grand girls are certainty not logical or rational in any way, but enjoy being emotional, jealous, dramatic, confrontational, argumentative (mostly with each other), and exhibit swings in attitude when they are confronted with the terrible realization that they can not always get their way. The phrase "that does not compute" seems to consume my every conclusion as I ask myself the question "why" they are acting this way. It's kinda like trying to figure out the emotions of woman (but I won't jump in to this subject). CONCLUSION: It is was it is... There's nothing to understand.. Nothing to do about it... Just let it go! (the same as with women). And enjoy the moments when all is well in the world of the Grand girls. The end. PS: Still love them dearly and enjoy being with them. Big hugs. Now... Where's the chocolate?... It makes everything instantly better. Or... Bacon would be nice too!

The three girls are just over one year apart in age… I’m told that this is the root of all problems along with them all being girls. Boys wouldn’t necessarily have this problem once they beat the crap out of one another and arrive at a pecking order… and establish which one is the alpha, and the others fall in line. There’s seems to be no emotional ups and downs with boys… no hate you, love you among boys… just the fear factor… keeps everything on a even keel. Girls seem to thrive on the emotional roller coaster … love, hate, fight, make up, repeat once every hour for ten to fifteen minutes, for dramatic effect. Just keep the sharp things out of reach.

As you get older, knowledge and wisdom increase, or at least I hope so. Just like the old saying… fix what you can fix, and forget about the rest, and the wisdom to know the difference. I’m learning. It is what it is… walk away and hide in the man cave for a while. No Cave? … bathroom with locked door will do to.

Just had a thought a few seconds ago…. oops… gone. That’s the down side of getting older. Ya may have the wisdom to better deal with it, if only you could remember what it was.

One last observation… One by themselves is an angel, most of the time. Two together is mostly good but sometimes touchy. All three together is like mixing three chemicals that are singularity safe, BUT together become explosive with the slightest spark. So, what to do with all three are together? < MAN CAVE >. And let mom and mom-mom deal with it. See, there’s always a logical solution.

Picture of fun, sweetness, and innocence.

Reviews

skincareproductreviews

Doing the research, checking the reviews… very helpful… but also gotta love product reviews ( and laugh) where someone gives a product a low rating and then proceeds to tell you what it didn't do... especially when it's evident that they didn't research it enough to see that it wasn't designed to do what they wanted. Perhaps I should only give a car a poor rating because it can not fly. Idiots.

Feeling Great

Feeling great… What a great thing. For a mere $10, you can go into the store and have a rather defining moment of self satisfaction and well being for all the things you can buy, and did buy for such a small price. I feel better already. Wow, just imagine how much better I'd feel for $20. Incredible!

Theories

sacsahuaman

One theory is as good as the next. Lack of scientific proof cannot make an absolute argument for or against any particular theory. With lack of scientific evidence, logical and practical possibilities should give way to the most reasonable explanations. With conventional concepts of what could or couldn't be accomplished physically even by today's standards, let alone the capabilities of those thousands of years ago... How can great structures be built, and by what methods? Scientific theory suggests thousands of workers laboring 20-30 years to accomplish building ancient structures, but can not answer the weight issues for moving 200 ton stones (largest 400 tons), or how precisely they were placed as to not even let a piece of paper to be slid between them. And why would ancient man, despite physical limitations, choose the hardest way possible to build structures. There has to be knowledge and capabilities that have been lost to time. Scientific knowledge and understanding that is limited to what is known today... What will increased knowledge and understanding in the future change in the world of possibilities? And change what we thought we knew about the past. Gods from the heavens? Makes you wonder. Thousands of years of beliefs and understanding, as interpreted by man, forms the basis for religions and an understanding of the practical world we live in. What if there was more to the story. And will we know it in our lifetime? There has to be more than the explanations of current scientific thinking. More to the stories and interpretations of ancient religious writings and accounts. All too many structures, artifacts, and accounts remain unexplained by scientific understanding or reasoning with respect to current knowledge. What will future knowledge reveal? Perhaps this is merely something to ponder in the early morning hours where the mind is clear of distractions. Gotta go... I smell bacon! Later.
