Great Quote…

Thought this was a great quote to pass on…

When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, "I used everything you gave me.” (Erma Bombeck)

It’s been a cooler winter here than in past years…

just 5 years ago we had 3 nights below freezing

( most were in the mid 40’s )

and most days were near 60-65 degrees…

( 80’s come March )

-----------------------------------------------

this year just about every night is near freezing

and the days are 45-50 degrees… burrr.

-----------------------------------------------

Planning next winter south of Miami

near the Everglades… toasty!

Must be Global Warming

Thank goodness we spent Billions

to know about Global Warming.

Gives me a warm feeling inside…

well, maybe not…

I’m cold inside & out!

But somebody is enjoying those billions

probably in Hawaii .

To blog, or not to Blog ???

To blog… or not to blob…

That is “not” the question…

The question is… what will you find there?

Shelly keeps a blog of her own and has many different entries than me… check it out at:

Your asking, so I’m telling…

Several people have asked me about our summer job doing activities Legacy in Hillsville Va. I plan the Activities for the Resort and Shelly does the Crafts Room and all the related Arts & Crafts Projects.Copy of best shot

Hillsville is in the south west corner of Virginia near the crossroads of I-81 & I-77. Since it’s on the ridge of the mountain, so it’s much cooler there in the summer and always a nice breeze.

If you like to see what we do there in the summer, just visit my Activities blog at:

www.ResortActivities.blogspot.com

or the campground web site at:

http://www.lakeridgerv.com/

(there is a great 360 degree viewer on the site)

Maybe we’ll seeya there sometime !

Mickey Loves to Camp

Mickey Loves to camp… and so do we.

lj;ljk

To be more precise, camping to us is in an Rv with all the comforts of home right at our fingertips…. right down to the fireplace.

lj;ljk (1)

But then again… we’re camping… get some logs and start up the campfire… nothing like toasted marshmallows over an open fire. Run out, just pick up more at the Trading Post.

lj;ljk (2)

Lots of great places to walk, hike, or bike.

lj;ljk (8)

The Rv sites are outstanding… only the best.

lj;ljk (11)

Enjoy nature and wildlife all around…

lj;ljk (10)

or a nice horseback ride…

lj;ljk (9)

or stop by Pioneer Hall for dinner…

lj;ljk (6)

and a dinner show…

lj;ljk (7)

Want something lighter, visit Davy’s Place…

lj;ljk (4)

in the spirit of the old frontier…

ghfhfhfh

How about an out theater…

lj;ljk (12)

or a Character Campfire…

lj;ljk (13)

enjoy the playground…

lj;ljk (16)

or walk down to the beach on Bay Lake…

lj;ljk (14)

rent a boat and cruse the Lake…

lj;ljk (15)

wildlife all around…

lj;ljk (17)

natural beauty everywhere…

lj;ljk (18)

ahhh… Rockin’ Chairs… I can go for that…

lj;ljk (3)

Need to know more…

To quote Disney:

Situated on more than 700 acres of lush pine and cypress trees, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is a picturesque haven of natural beauty. Time slows to a pleasant crawl as Guests wander quiet trails and enjoy the rugged charm of log-façade buildings like the Meadow Trading Post and Pioneer Hall. Water canals snake through the cabins, campsites and common areas, adding to the sense of being far from the bustle of modern civilization—as do the roaming ducks, deer and rabbits.

Among the original accommodations within Walt Disney World Resort, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort opened in November 1971, and its quaint, idyllic American Frontier theme continues to enchant scores of Guests year after year.
