Summer Season coming to an end.

The season here at Lake Ridge is coming to a close. Two weeks ago some of the kids went back to school… last week more went back to school… this week they are all back in school. So we went from very busy full… to slowing down… to slowing down more…to… yeah… here comes somebody. Dead is not the word for it. Last week, this week, next week thru Thursday afternoon… time to get caught up… get ahead… prepare for the rest of the season… namely the five Halloween weekends. Labor Day has already been planned and things are in place. Prep for Halloween is well underway… just need to wait to do the physical decorating mid September…. and enjoy the rest. It’s been another great season here… and a lot of good staff to make it even better. On a sad note… we may be the only one’s returning next year… but that’s the nature of RVing. Move on… move around… and go to new places with new faces. We’ll certainly miss everyone here next year… some really fine people. Pretty much plan a year or so in advance… finish here Nov 2nd….on to Disney thru Jan 12th… panhandle of Florida thru March… April open… back to Lake Ridge for Summer 2010… than perhaps to Disney and Miami for the winter… if nothing else comes our way. Would like to switch things around… mostly work in the south for the winter… and travel for the summer. We’ll see… how knows… may head west for a couple of years…. Mountains in the summer… valleys in the winter.

Looking forward to seeing Brandi and the girls next month… seems so long ago since we were there.

“Facebook” can be very time consuming… it’s nice in a lot of ways… but mostly “fluff”…. pure fluff!

Right now I’d rather enjoy the great weather and a nice campfire… watch the hummingbirds… and see the sunset. Life is sweet. later….

Getting back into the swing…

Wow…. times flies by quickly. It’s been a busy summer season here at Lake Ridge. Lots of activities… lots of guests… lots of fun and always something to do. Days off usually finds us traveling down the mountain to Mt. Airy or Winston-Salem NC. Shopping, dining, doctors, dining, sight-seeing, dining, Best Buy, dining, Select-Comfort, dining, Lowes, dining, and Wal-mart… and dining. The key word here is dining. Lots of different places but one place in particular… B-52"’s… all-u-can-eat crab legs… several times with a few more planned.

Got our plans 99% set for the winter. Leave Lake Ridge Nov 2nd to go to Disney. Enjoy Disney and help them out a couple of days a week until around Jan 12 or so. Spend Jan-March in the panhandle… Sunset King for 2 weeks and Legacy of 2 weeks… and so on back and forth. We would stay at SSK for the entire time, but have to make alternate plans that will no doubt become primary plans… don’t think SSk will have a long term site for us. Legacy, the owners of Lake Ridge like to take care of it’s staff… so they will take care of us for the 2 weeks out of SSk. Only a short 50 mile trip between the two and in the long run it will be much cheaper to go back and forth than stay at SSk the entire time. The change back and forth will be nice, and we’ll be closer to the beach and civilization… businesses & dinning… while at Legacy. But how knows… SSk many have a nice spot & we will just stay the entire time. Still enjoying Legacy’s Lake Ridge Resort. Somewhat close to Brandi & the girls … fun work… if you really want to call it work… and we get to have one of the girls for extended stays (4-6 weeks) here at Lake Ridge while we work. We love the weather here… usually 10-15 degrees cooler, always a nice breeze, close to Brandi, great job, great managers, good staff, no hassles, no worries, and get paid salary from first hour worked, plus the free site & utilities, plus perks. Already planning to return for the summer of 2010. Having a great time with the guests and their families. It’s all upside… with no downside. Just a great time!
